HTC announced the HTC One, a new Android smartphone with an impressive Ultrapixel camera, sharp-looking 1080P HD display and a slim, curvy design.

Previously rumored as the HTC M7, the phone is coming to retailers as the HTC One, showing HTC wants to build the “One” branding it launched in 2012.

The HTC One features a 4.7-inch display with a 1080P Full HD resolution, similar to the HTC Droid DNA which is available on Verizon.   With a high-resolution on a pocketable screen size the display offers very crisp images thanks to 468 pixels-per-inch, a dramatic increase over the iPhone 5’s 326 ppi.

HTC One Launched aka M7

The HTC One launched today with an Ultrapixel camera.

The HTC One features a curved back of aluminum, and is 9.3mm thick, weighing in at 143 grams. The phone’s design features two small lines on the back of the phone, just above the camera and at the bottom of the device below a Beats audio logo. The HTC One is available in black and silver.

HTC One With UltraPixel

The HTC One is official.

An Ultrapixel camera graces the back of the HTC One. The Ultrapixel camera features a 4-megapixel BSI sensor with a f/2.0 lens. HTC claims the HTC One’s Ultrapixel camera lets in 300 percent more light than the average smartphone, for better low light performance. The front facing camera is wide-angle, so users can capture more of a group photo. We look forward to taking real world HTC One sample photos to see how well the HTC One camera performs.

HTC One Video Overview

The video below provides a quick look at the HTC One and the new HTC One features.

HTC packed in the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 1.7Ghz Snapdragon 600 to be exact. This is the same processor in the just announced LG Optimus G Pro. The HTC one packs in 2GB of RAM as well as 32GB of storage on the base model and a 64GB model available as an upgrade. There is no Micro-Sd card slot to expand storage. A 2300 mAh battery powers the HTC One which is an upgrade from the batteries in the HTC One X and HTC One X+.The HTC One features LTE, HSPA, WiFi and NFC.

HTC One Design

The HTC one features front facing stereo speakers.

The HTC One features front facing stereo speakers with a dedicated amplifier and Beats Audio. By aiming the speakers at the user, the HTC One has an advantage over competition which typically directs sound down or away from the user.

HTC is launching HTC Sense 5 with the HTC One, offering a more minimalist version of the HTC Sense skin which is familiar to any HTC phone owner. The HTC Sense 5 skin includes new flatter looking widgets that are reminiscent of Windows Phone 8 design. The new Blink Feed HTC Sense 5 widget is a news feed with over 1,400 media sources including ESPN, MTV and others that can deliver fast access to news on the home screen as well as social networks. Underneath the skin, the HTC One runs Android 4.1.2.

HTC One Battery Life

The HTC One features a curved design and a 2300 mAh battery.

The HTC One will land on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile as well as Cincinnati Bell, and will be sold at Best Buy. The HTC One Release is slated for March, though no specific date or price is listed.

The probelm is the curved back. Had an iphone 3gs and it always fell on the floor! did not break though. But still a curved back is a flawed design.

A flat back, a bigger battery and an sd expansion slot and I would have bought it. Otherwise cool looking phone and great to see a fokus on sound. What should we use a full hd screen for? on this size of screen the eye cant see the difference to a 720p only notably difference is the larger battery draw…….
