Samsung Galaxy S4 Processor Rumors Keep Swirling
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is likely going to launch on March 14th at an event in New York. And while Samsung hasn’t announced anything just yet, information is surfacing by the day with the latest rumors swirling about the potential processor inside Samsung’s brand new smartphone.
Since the Galaxy S4 first leaked back in late 2012, we’ve heard a number of rumors in regards to its features. Current rumors suggest that it will feature a large full HD 1080p display, a 13MP camera, a design that is either based on the Galaxy S3 or the Galaxy Note 8.0, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz.
Of course, the phone also needs a processor and thus far, while rumors seem to have been able to narrow it down to a few different ones, they still aren’t able to agree on exactly what chip will power the different versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4.
A previous report out of Korean publication indicated that Samsung would be using a Qualcomm 600 chip inside the Samsung Galaxy S4, including the devices in the United States. This matched up with a benchmark for the supposed Verizon version of the device but went against previous rumors that suggested that the international model might feature Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa quad-core processor.
Samsung has also been promoting the Exynos 5 Octa through social media, leading some to believe that it might be on its way to the Galaxy S4.
Today, the Galaxy S4 processor rumors are swirling once again as JPMorgan, as noted by Taipei Times, claims that the Galaxy S4 will indeed sport Qualcomm’s 600 quad-core processor but that the European Galaxy S4 will feature the Exynos 5 Octa.
Samsung using two different chips for the Galaxy S4 wouldn’t be anything new as the company used different processors for the Samsung Galaxy S3, the previous model.
Consumers looking to snag this device likely won’t be let down by either processor as both claim to offer better performance and longer lasting battery life than their predecessors.
While the rumors continue to swirl, things will be put at ease come March 14th when Samsung takes the stage and shows off the Samsung Galaxy S4, and all of its features, to the world.
