Huawei’s Galaxy S4 Look-A-Like Leaked

Published

on

We still have no idea what Samsung’s Galaxy S4 flagship would look like at this time officially, but Huawei may have something that challenges the South Korean smartphone while at the same time cloning some of its aesthetics. The Huawei Ascend G710 smartphone was recently leaked on Twitter by user @evleaks and shows some Samsung-inspired design choices alongside a 5-inch 720p HD display.

The device does have a chrome border and either a metallic or faux metallic back panel that has a textured look. This is not unlike what we’ve seen in the Pebble Blue version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 flagship or the Galaxy Note 2 more recently. The design choice actually debuted on the Galaxy S3 smartphone and Samsung switched from cheap plastic parts to a more premium polycarbonate material and added the textured metallic pattern to give its flagship from 2012 a more rich feel.

Additionally, the 5-inch display size of the Ascend G710 also matches the rumors we’ve been hearing surrounding a 5-inch Galaxy S4 release. However, unlike the 1080p Galaxy S4 rumors, the G710 only packs the 720p resolution.

And unlike Samsung’s phone, this device does not have a physical home button flanked by two capacitive touch buttons, one on either side. Instead, Huawei opted for a trio of capacitive touch buttons just below the display.

The device will be powered by a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor and is said to be positioned just below the Ascend D2 given its specs.

The Ascend G710 is rumored to work on both CDMA and GSM networks.
