Samsung Galaxy S4 Pricing Undercuts iPhone 5

By  |  6 Comments

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will retail for just under $600 according to recently released details in an official Samsung contest for the just announced Galaxy S4.

Update: Samsung updated the estimated retail value to $650, in line with the iPhone 5.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 price off contract is reportedly $579, which is $70 cheaper than a base model iPhone 5 off contract. The Samsung Galaxy S4 price is revealed in the contest terms and conditions.

Samsung has yet to officially announce a Samsung Galaxy S4 price on a two-year contract for carriers like AT&T, Verizon T-Mobile and Sprint, but based on this new pricing, it is very likely that carriers will offer the Samsung Galaxy S4 for $199 with a two-year contract. Expect the 32GB and 64GB Galaxy S4 prices on Contract to bump up by $50 to $100.

Users can sign up for the Samsung Galaxy S4 giveaway for free, and earn a chance to get the Galaxy S4 before anyone else as part of the “Cut to the front of the line” sweepstakes. Despite the promise of jumping to the front of the line, winners of the Samsung Galaxy S4 are in for a 10-12 week wait after the contest ends on April 22nd. Samsung is also giving away 33 Galaxy S4 devices paired with a 55-inch Samsung Smart TV.

Even though Samsung did not officially announce the U.S. Galaxy S4 release date, odds are it will be on Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint before July 2013.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 pricing in the UK is pegged at £529.98 including VAT, or about $800 USD. This pricing is for an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 and is line with pricing for the Xperia Z and the HTC One. The Samsung Galaxy S4 release date estimated by Unlocked Mobiles is April 26th 2013, which is in line with earlier estimates.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 release date is set for April for the international market. While U.S. carriers confirmed that the Galaxy S4 is coming to their networks, so far no one is offering any firm word on release dates. The best we have is a release window from April to June, with May or June looking much more likely.

You don’t wanna cheapen the image & make it seem like it’s what people buy who CAN’T AFFORD an iPhone.

You mean people that are smart enough NOT TO BUY an iphone. The iphone has always been over rated. The fact that you can get better tech for less only makes the choice more responsibly intelligent.

Not everyone wants an iPhone. I’ve used an iPhone, android, and windows phone and prefer the android any day of the week.

There is quite a lot that the new Galaxy S4 comes with, so I’m not surprised that it’s a little more expensive to make than the iPhone. It has a faster processor, better camera, and a 1080p display, so there has to be a lot of tech in there. I just can’t wait to see how good the full HD display looks. Since the train ride to work at DISH takes a while, I like to stream live and recorded shows to my phone. I use the DISH Anywhere app often to stream from my DVR everywhere I go, and I could use a higher resolution display.
