A noted HTC leakster claims that the HTC One X+, HTC One X+ LTE, HTC EVO 4G LTE and the Droid DNA will all be getting the bump up to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and along with it, a bump to Sense 5.0, the latest version of HTC’s skin that will be making its debut on board the HTC One in the weeks ahead.

As it stands, HTC has yet to release Android 4.2 Jelly Bean for any of its devices. The HTC One, its flagship, will be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean when it arrives. Furthermore, the company has not yet said which devices will be getting the upgrade to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean in the future. Fortunately, thanks to a leak, we now know some of what to expect.

According to @LlabTooFeR, a noted HTC leakster who has been accurate with his information in the past, the HTC One will be getting an upgrade to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, specifically, Android 4.2.2, the latest version. This is not surprising given how new of a device it is.

What’s more is that he also claims that the HTC One X+ (Evita), HTC One X+ LTE (Evitare), HTC EVO 4G LTE (Jewel), Droid DNA (DLX_WL) will all be getting the boost up to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean in the future. Further, he also claims that these four devices will be getting the bump to Sense 5 with the upgrade to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. HTC has not confirmed this, which means it’s still up in the air, but given his track record, we have reason to believe that this information is accurate.

He does not mention any of the other devices that HTC said may be getting Sense 5 including the HTC One X and the HTC One S. The company seemed to confirm that at least some features of Sense 5 would be coming to those phones in the months ahead. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean updates were also not mentioned for either of those devices, leaving them in doubt.

We’ve seen Sense 5 already leak for the Droid DNA and @LlabTooFeR previously confirmed that the device would indeed be getting the software though he did not reveal that Android 4.2 would be involved.

Hopefully, HTC is able to confirm some of this sooner rather than late but for owners of these devices, this news is certainly good news, even without official confirmation.

Samsung will be pushing android 5.0 to the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 as well as the Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S4 and Nexus 4 are the only current devices on the market today with 4.2.2 jellybean. You can rest assured that the Htc Dna, Htc One X+ and Htc Evo 4g Lte won’t be seeing 5.0 Key Lime Pie.

Sorry Richard you’re wrong. The Asus TF300T has had 4.2.2 for a couple weeks now and it was released nearly a year ago.

Asus has been one of the first manufacturers to work on the updates. The TF300 is Asus’s number one selling tablet and it is their flagship device. It may have been on the market for two years, but they are continuing to sell the tablet. They will update it again to Key Lime Pie in the future. I wouldn’t be surprised if the tablet gets the update before the S4. It did get 4.2 before the S3 got 4.2!

Whether these HTC phones will get Key Lime Pie or not, it is pointless to debate that. Android 5.0 aka Key Lime Pie has not been released yet and is just a rumor. This article is describing how tge phones, likely will get updated to Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and Sense 5.0 (with blinkfeed and those other HTC features). I personally would not mind not getting Key Lime Pie on my phone as long as I get Sense 5.0.

If the DNA does not get 4.2 and Sense 5, I will be writing off HTC forever. I’m tired of buying expensive phones and not getting any love from the manufacturer. I would t complain so much if I could root this device and usr my own custom ROMs. But guess what? The latest OTA killed all possibility of doing so. And they removed the option of unlocking the bootloader through the HTC dev portal for some unknown reason.
