At CES 2013, T-Mobile revealed that the first city where it would deploy 4G LTE would be Las Vegas, Nevada. Shortly after that, Kansas City emerged as another the city that would follow Las Vegas. Since then though, we haven’t heard much from T-Mobile in regards to other cities that may be seeing the 4G LTE green light in the days ahead.

That is, until today. Today, OpenSignal confirmed to PCMag that its crowd sourced Android application has revealed a number of potential T-Mobile 4G LTE launch cities, despite T-Mobile not having officially launched the network. The list of cities where a T-Mobile 4G LTE signal was detected of course includes both Las Vegas and Kansas City but also includes Denver, New Orleans, New York, San Diego, San Jose, and Seattle.

According to an OpenSignal spokesman, because these cities have shown signs of 4G LTE connectivity, they are likely going to be a part of T-Mobile’s initial 4G LTE roll out which is supposed to take place in the near future.

Speeds, at least to OpenSignal, are pegged at 25Mbps download and 8Mbps upload which is extremely fast for 4G LTE. However, T-Mobile customers who will be using its 4G LTE network shouldn’t expect those speeds regularly as the network is currently empty. Once it is populated with devices like the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 2, speeds will likely slow down considerably.

T-Mobile will be the last of the four major U.S. mobile operators to launch a 4G LTE network. AT&T, Sprint and Verizon wireless have all their 4G LTE networks in place for many months now with Verizon leading the pack with over 400 markets around the U.S. That means that it will have 392 more markets than T-Mobile, should the latter launch with these eight cities.

So far, T-Mobile has announced several additions to its 4G LTE network including the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4 and a 4G LTE variant of the Galaxy S3. It also recently updated the Galaxy Note 2 with software that enabled 4G LTE data speeds.
