Despite a release date that is said to be coming months after the release of other carriers and a possible release under a different name, the rumored Verizon HTC One is said to have a similar design to HTC One models that will be launching on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

Rumors about the HTC One have been swirling lately in regards to a Verizon HTC One model. At the device’s launch event in February, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile all stepped up and announced the HTC One for arrival with HTC claiming that the device would be out in March. Shortly after, rumors sprouted up regarding an unannounced Verizon HTC One, a device that HTC quickly denied existed. Just as quickly, the company changed stances after rumors suggested a release down the road.

The Verizon HTC One will likely have a familiar design.

The Verizon HTC One will likely have a familiar design.

One of the first sources to claim that a Verizon HTC One would be coming was @LlabTooFeR who leaked specifications for a supposed variant of the HTC One heading to Verizon prior to the HTC One’s release. He later claimed that the device was real, claiming that it was in testing and that it would be due out in several months, something that fell in line with a more recent report that suggested that Verizon’s HTC One would come about a month or two after the release on the official carriers.

Today, he’s back again with another tidbit about the Verizon HTC One suggesting that the device will be nearly identical to the HTC One that has already been announced.

Specifically, he claims that the Verizon HTC One design will be “almost identical” to the current device which likely means that it will be made entirely of metal with a ZeroGap design that leaves the device’s build material flush throughout. What he doesn’t say is that it will be identical, which means that Verizon may put its own spin on the device.

Remember, rumors have suggested that this could be the Droid DNA 2, replacing the Droid DNA on Verizon’s 4G LTE network, and that could mean different branding, and different colors. It’s not clear at this point.

At the very least, this is more confirmation of a Verizon HTC One model for the future. However, due to the delays, it could be that consumers are going to be waiting quite awhile for Verizon’s near-identical HTC One variant to arrive.

Verizon customers already have the DNA and they still want a One? Not cool verizon. If AT&T had exclusive devices verizon would flip a b**ch

Huh? what is good about an exclusive phone if it’s worse than the one every other carrier has? I was considering leaving Verizon just to get this

You must be new here. Verizon loves to have ‘exclusive phones’ that are just slightly worse than everything else out there.

Various carriers do have exclusive devices. Do you not recall AT&T was the only carrier who had the iPhone for many years?

I don’t see why it would take them any longer than May or first week of June at latest, especially since the.one has already been delayed over a month now!
That just gives them extra time to get this thing through all the testing. Oh, and also to rip out the storage and put their little 16gb card inside with no sdcard slot either of course! they might as well just replace the battery and go with a 1500mah…..if your gonna screw things up, you might as well do it good Verizon
