Update: AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 Pre-orders and Pricing Announced

Earlier this month, Samsung revealed its new Samsung Galaxy S4, the device that will be taking over for the Samsung Galaxy S3 and one that will hitting shelves starting in late April. Already, we’ve seen AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon confirm the device for their networks and now, several days after the event, we have our first release date.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is coming to T-Mobile on May 1st.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is coming to T-Mobile on May 1st.

T-Mobile today confirmed, at its UnCarrier event, that it will be releasing the Samsung Galaxy S4 on May 1st, just a few days after the United Kingdom gets the device on April 25th and April 26th. This is likely much sooner than many expected given that American carriers are typically far behind their counterparts in terms of release timing. T-Mobile is the first U.S. carrier to announce a Galaxy S4 U.S. release date leaving the other four to make announcements of their own.

Typically, T-Mobile is one of the first to offer devices, it was one of the first with the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, so it could be that carriers like AT&T and Verizon release the Galaxy S4 later that month.

The T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 will check in with the same $99 pricing that the carrier has attached to both the HTC One and the iPhone 5 it seems. That pricing is significantly cheaper than what other carriers will likely offer it for.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 figures to replace the Samsung Galaxy S3 in T-Mobile’s lineup as the carrier’s flagship Samsung device. However, it won’t replace it completely.

T-Mobile is set to introduce a 4G LTE powered Galaxy S3 sometime in the future, a device that may serve as its budget option for consumers. The carrier still hasn’t release pricing.

The Galaxy S4 features a number of new features including a 5-incb 1080p display, quad-core processor, 13MP camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Samsung’s smart features.

I am disappointed by the design, I think it looks way to much like the galaxy s3. I know that there are more important things than the design but they could still change it a little bit.

I concur the general consensus is this is more of a galaxy S3.5 a refresh not a complete update

I moved on to G.note2 from BB, HTC, Nokia, Moto, Isuepone and i really like my tiny g.note2 in fact I was really not into design but after all turned on to great features and just realized Sammy makes better user frndly software and hardware (crapple use sammy’s AP too) so I believe GS4 is no doubtly will be a next big thing

Tired of them releasing a device… waiting MONTHS before it arrives… having different specs depending on where you live… and the US getting it last. Build some hype, get them ready to ship, have a giant event, release them to the public within a month, and have the same specs. Is it really that hard?

You can thank the US carriers for that.

Then people (a lot of them the same ones) complain that something better comes out the month after they buy a new device because there isn’t enough advance information on new devices. If you don’t want to wait MONTHS for a delayed device the get one that is out when you want one.

It stinks that it’s going to take so long for it to come to T-Mobile, but I think it’ll be worth the wait. I am really excited to test out a Galaxy S4 and see how good it is. It should be great considering it has a fast processor, excellent camera, and a 1080p display. I pass the time by watching my live and recorded shows on my phone while I’m on my way to work at DISH, since it takes a while to get there. I’m able to stream from my DVR everywhere I go using the DISH Anywhere app and I’d love to see how everything looks on a higher resolution display.
