The T-Mobile iPhone 5 is finally official, and the up front cost is cheaper than buying the iPhone on AT&T, Sprint and Verizon.

Starting April 12th T-Mobile will sell the iPhone 5 online and in stores for $99 up front without the need for a two-year contract.

The T-Mobile iPhone 5 arrives with LTE support in seven cities, and in other cities with coverage up to 200 million users by the end of 2013.

The T-Mobile iPhone 5 is $99 up front and then shoppers pay a $20 monthly fee to pay off the iPhone during the course of a typical two-year contract, but there is no contract for users to sign. This makes the total cost of the T-Mobile iPhone 5 at $579 for a 16GB iPhone, or about $70 cheaper than an off contract iPhone on Sprint, AT&T and Verizon.

The T-Mobile iPhone 5 could arrive tomorrow.

The T-Mobile iPhone 5 is here.

The upfront cost is $100 cheaper than the price for an iPhone on these carriers as well. Granted users will pay for the phone over a 24 month period, but the lack of a contract is a bonus for many users. Even with the $20 monthly fee, the users are likely going to pay about the same or lower monthly fees as on the other major carriers. T-Mobile invites users to bring their current phone to the party.

Shoppers can pre-register for the T-Mobile iPhone today to get more information about the iPhone 5 when it arrives and when it will come to stores nearby.

T-Mobile is also bringing the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 to T-Mobile. The up front cost of the T-Mobile iPhone 4S is $69 and the iPhone 4 for $14.99 down. Both of these T-Mobile iPhones are $20 a month on top of the phone contract.

Users can pre-register for the T-Mobile iPhone 5 to pick one up on April 12th.

T-Mobile includes HD Voice on the iPhone 5. This is an exclusive feature for the T-Mobile iPhone 5, which T-Mobile claims will deliver better sounding calls with reduced background noise.

Like the AT&T iPhone 5, the T-Mobile iPhone allows users to talk and surf at the same time, which could give AT&T a bit of competition.

When outside of the T-Mobile 4G LTE networks in Baltimore, MD, Kansas City, KS, Houston, TX, Las Vegas, NV, Phoenix, AZ, San Jose, CA and Washington D.C., the iPhone 5 connects to T-Mobile 4G networks. The iPhone 5 on T-Mobile will move from LTE to HSPA+ seamlessly according to T-Mobile.

T-Mobile showed off a new commercial to kick off the new plans and celebrate the launch of the T-Mobile iPhone 5.
