The HTC One brings HTC Sense 5 and a collection of new features to the HTC One that deliver an enhanced Android experience that users cannot find on a device like the Nexus 4.

HTC loads in a new skin that looks great on the HTC One’s 1080P HD display and packs in special HTC Apps and HTC One software features that complement the HTC One’s great looking all metal design.

As the HTC One makes its way to Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile on April 19th, we want to share a closer look at the HTC One software, so that users can get a better feel for the HTC Sense 5 software. Some of these HTC Sense 5 software features will eventually arrive on other HTC devices according to rumors, but they land first on the HTC One.

The HTC Sense 5 launcher looks similar to an Android home screen, but with better spacing and nicer looking folders. HTC starts users off with the several pre-configured folders for apps and allows users to customize the layout of apps and create more folders. There are also options to change how the home screen is sorted.

HTC Sense TV

There is an IR port in the power button of the HTC One which allows user to control an HDTV, cable box, receiver and more. Setup is swift and many brands and cable or satellite providers are supported.

The HTC Sense 5 lock screen is pretty standard with a customizable background, the time and weather. Users can put on typical Android lock screen security and there is the ability to launch up to four commonly used apps directly from the lock screen. There is no support for lock screen widgets yet.

HTC Sense 5 Home Screens

After swiping off of HTC BlinkFeed, users are greeted with a standard Android home screen setup. The HTC Sense 5 software on the HTC One allows users to add screens, arrange apps and add widgets to each screen.

There is quite a lot to look forward to when the HTC One arrives. I can’t say that I’d use the HTC Sense TV as much, though I’m sure it would look nice on the 1080p display. Watching my live and recorded shows on my phone while I’m on my way to work at DISH is a big thing for me, since it takes a while to get there. I use the DISH Anywhere app to this, and I think it would well with the HTC One.
