Samsung Galaxy S4 Release Date: More Proof of April U.S. Release

Additional proof that the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 release date will arrive on April 26th comes on the heels of the Staples document which tipped three Galaxy S4 release dates including T-Mobile and Verizon.

The leak pointed to an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 release date on April 26th and a Verizon Galaxy S4 release date over a month later on May 30th.

The Staples document isn’t enough to confirm the Galaxy S4 release details contained inside. Even with additional confirmation of the document’s possible authenticity by a Staples employee, the dates alone could not be verified.

But, according to a new report from Bloomberg the Samsung Galaxy S4 release date in the U.S. matches the leaked Staples document.

In a report on iPhone 5S production, Bloomberg states,

Samsung, the world’s largest smartphone vendor, will release its Galaxy S4 for sale in the U.S. April 26

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 release date is pegged for April 26th on AT&T, the first for the U.S.

This is not nearly as good as an official confirmation from Samsung, though the company did confirm one Galaxy S4 release date in North America. Samsung Mobile Canada tweeted a photo of the Galaxy S4 and announced the Canadian Galaxy S4 release date for April 27th.

Canadian carrier Telus claims a Samsung Galaxy S4 release date of April 26th, despite Samsung’s announcement. The carrier offers the Galaxy S4 to users who pre-order a week before the device hits retail stores in Canada.

With the official announcement for Canada and additional confirmation from Bloomberg, it looks incredibly likely that AT&T will be the first carrier with a Samsung Galaxy S4 in the U.S.

This is not surprising given AT&T’s close relationship with Samsung and the carrier’s plans to start Galaxy S4 pre-orders on April 16th.

With this in mind, it is possible that the Staples document is correct about the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 release date. This means Verizon customers may need to wait for May 30th to get the Galaxy S4.

Unfortunately the Staples document does not include the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 release timing, so there’s no information about when the Galaxy S4 might arrive on Sprint.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 5-inch 1080P HD display and a 13MP rear facing camera. Samsung includes Android 4.2.2 with the TouchWiz skin on top. In addition to TouchWiz, Samsung includes a number of software features like Air View and Multi-View — two popular Galaxy Note 2 features.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 price is set at $199 for the 16GB model and $249 for the 32GB model on AT&T. T-Mobile is charging $99 for the 16GB model with monthly payments of $20. There are no details on the Galaxy S4 pricing on Verizon or Sprint, but it is likely on track for $199 as well.

Samsung opted for a plastic design for the Galaxy S4, though rumors indicate Samsung is planning a new design for the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 based on a metal Galaxy S4 prototype.

Samsung is launching the Galaxy S4 into a crowded marketplace with the HTC One and the iPhone 5. The HTC One features an all metal design, which may help HTC claim a larger marketshare in the U.S.
