While the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 is still without an official release date, we know that the phone is on the way, possibly with a release date in late May. We also now know what the phone looks like ahead of its release as Samsung has posted the Verizon Galaxy S4 to its website today showing off its branding which fortunately, at this point, doesn’t include a branded home button.

Earlier today, AT&T started taking pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S4 with shipping dates set for two weeks from now. And while AT&T has started pre-orders ahead of its Galaxy S4 release date, Verizon has yet to announce any of the details for its Samsung Galaxy S4 leaving customers wondering when it will be touching down.

We have heard that May 30th might be the Verizon Galaxy S4 release date though that is unconfirmed. What we do know is that the device will indeed be coming out as Samsung has posted the smartphone to its website, complete with images that include its branding and a big “Coming Soon!” sign above the photos.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that the device is coming any time soon but it does confirm that it will be indeed be hitting shelves at some point in the future, something that was confirmed once before when Verizon announced the device for its network. That confirmation came shortly after the Galaxy S4’s announcement, however.

The images reveal that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will have the usual Verizon branding on the back of the device though it looks like Verizon may be eschewing the branded home button, something it included on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, and a move that was met with an outpouring of criticism from Verizon fans and customers.

We still haven’t seen the phone in the flesh though, so at this point, it’s best to assume the worst and hope for the best.

So far, several U.S. Galaxy S4 release dates remain missing even as pre-orders begin. While T-Mobile has confirmed May 1st, other carriers like Sprint and Verizon remain mum about the specifics of their devices though we expect to hear more about their plans in the weeks ahead.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is the company’s latest and greatest smartphone and features a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, upgraded 13MP camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and the new TouchWiz which will be coming with a host of Samsung smart features.

VZ is a large, slow moving company. Having worked for a large slow moving company (HPQ) for 23 years one learns that with mass comes lethargy. I’m sure VZ is moving the S4 through its NPI process as fast as it can however, there are many layers and many departments, groups and divisions that must first have their say. Add to this the fact that VZ likes to customize the life out of every device they release and one sees an equation whose result is time, lots and lots of time.

VZ will not release anything fast because they just cannot, they’re too big and slow.

However, don’t get me wrong. Gargantuan size has its benefits, market power, advanced technology and coverage quality being just a few. There is a reason they rank high with JD Powers and Consumer Reports. So, while VZ may not be as nimble as their competitors and while this may cause customer consternation, their churn rate will hardly blip over this and people will remain loyal.
