U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy S4 Release Confusion Will End Soon

In the build up to the Samsung Galaxy S4 release on U.S. Cellular, there has been a bit of confusion as far as when the device will arrive for those that pre-ordered and when the device will land on shelves. As we have learned, the confusion that consumers and early buyers have endured thus far is likely to end soon.

Earlier this month, U.S. Cellular confirmed that it would be taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S4 ahead of a release date that would emerge sometime in April. At the time, U.S. Cellular declined to give a specific release date for the devices arrival. The pre-order seemingly started without a hitch though in the days since, there has been some confusion as to when U.S. Cellular’s device is going to arrive.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 pre-orders will allegedly start on multiple carriers at Walmart on April 16th at 9 AM.

The Galaxy S4 confusion at U.S. Cellular will end “soon.”

We’ve heard from a few U.S. Cellular Galaxy S4 pre-orderers who say that their purchase has been a confusing one at best, thanks to some odd timing put forth by the carrier.

One future U.S. Cellular Galaxy S4 owner claims that while he has pre-ordered the device, he still isn’t sure when it might be arriving. Apparently, U.S. Cellular informed those who pre-ordered that the Galaxy S4 would ship out “approximately” four weeks after its pre-order date of April 16th. That would place it outside of the month of April, the month that U.S. Cellular originally said that it would arrive.

Curious to see if this four week shipping time was accurate, the owner talked to a customer service representative who said that the shipping time could change at any time but that historically, devices ship out in two to four weeks from the pre-order date. The rep could not confirm whether or not the device would arrive in April, but left it open as a possibility.

So, as of right now, given the confusion set forth by U.S. Cellular and the subsequent delays at carriers like T-Mobile and Sprint, U.S. Cellular customers who not only pre-ordered but were thinking about buying, are without answers. However, it appears that the confusion will end soon.

We reached out to the carrier in an effort to get to the bottom of the confusion and an a spokesperson told Gotta Be Mobile that it “will have more information” soon.

No elaboration but it should mean that we’ll get a firm in-store release date and that those that pre-ordered will get some clarification as to when their orders will arrive.

Given the delays, it’s possible that U.S. Cellular could miss May, but at this point, it’s unclear.

Thanks, J!

I had per-ordered the phone on the 17th and the Representative then said I should ship out at the latest April 30th. And since trying to find a more concrete date the time is just being pushed further and further back. This is rather annoying to deal with. After spending 200$ you would hope for a GOOD company (like US Cellular Traditionally was) to give you more of a concrete answer to your questions than just a vague and crappy estimate.

I was told the 23rd by 2 reps now they say they ha e no clue. If Verizon S4 comes out sooner than US Cellular or near the same time I’m just going to go with them.
