After months of being dormant, the smartphone world has become active once again with carriers releasing a number of new devices unto the world. One of the beneficiaries of those new devices is AT&T which has seized several of these new smartphones for its 4G LTE network in an effort to beef up its lineup against opposition like Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile.

The beginning months of 2013 were not kind to those looking to buy a new smartphone on AT&T, or any carrier for that matter. Manufacturers were content with letting their flagships from 2012 play out and thus, consumers who were looking for the latest and greatest were left with good lineups, but lineups full of devices from last year.

That of course all changed in the last few weeks as carriers in the U.S. have debuted their latest smartphones which have replaced some of the biggest names from last year.

Those looking for a new smartphone on AT&T are in luck as the carrier has launched two of the biggest smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One. AT&T also is the only carrier, at least at the moment, that will be carrying both a 64GB HTC One and a 32GB Galaxy S4, making it an extremely attractive destination for consumers.

Of course, these phones aren’t the only devices gracing AT&T’s lineup. In fact, AT&T has a large swath of devices including iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8 devices. In fact, the lineup is so extensive that many consumers likely are going to have a bit of an issue trying to decide on which smartphone to buy once a phone breaks or a contract runs out.

Apple's iPhone 5 features a 4-inch display that is on par with many of displays of 2013, a speedy processor, one of the best smartphone cameras, an industrial design with metal, glass and aluminum and as of right now, iOS 6.

The iPhone 5 price likely won't see any significant drops from now until the release of the rumored iPhone 5S but consumers can buy knowing that it will last through a contract thanks to Apple's focus on longevity.
