As expected, the U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy S4 bug fix update, that was rumored to be heading out to owners on May 10th, is now available to those that wish to install the first Galaxy S4 update from the nation’s fifth largest carrier.

Earlier this week, we saw a document leak indicating that U.S. Cellular had a bug fix update for its Samsung Galaxy S4 planned or sometime in May. Whispers suggested that May 10th would be the day though the carrier did not release any information about the update’s arrival, leaving a release date up in the air.

Today though, the update push has begun with the software becoming available for those that own U.S. Cellular’s version of the Samsung Galaxy S4, this according to the carrier’s website.

The update that leaked earlier this week was build R970VXUAMDL and that is the same build that U.S. Cellular has listed on its website as being available through the device’s settings. Those that wish to install the update, which will keep the device on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, should be able to head into the device’s settings to grab the new firmware.

If available, and it should be, the update will prompt a download and then install on its own. From there, the device will reboot and the new firmware will be on board the device.

At this time, it doesn’t look like the software is available through Samsung Kies.

The update isn’t a large one, but it does bring some likeable things to the table. The Multi-Window View feature should now be set to off by default, there should be improved audio quality of camcorder and voice recording, U.S. Cellular lists improved touch response, and there is said to be a small fix for the Camera wherein the home key will now make a sound when its pressed within Sound & Shoot.

This is not a massive update, but it’s one that follows in the footsteps of updates for AT&T and T-Mobile, both of which rolled out quick software updates for their Galaxy S4 models.
