The Best Windows Tablets [May, 2013]

on

With Windows 8, Microsoft attempted to change the nature of the devices its partners offered to consumers. In fact, the company introduced so many changes to the operating system that some now argue that Windows 8 may be the first operating system made by Microsoft whose touch experience vastly outstrips it’s use on traditional Windows form factors like laptops and desktops.

While the jury is still out on that, the fact is that Windows is now easier than ever to use on the world’s latest computing form factor, tablets. As many people believe Apple proved with its line of iPad line, while it’s important to get the software right, quality hardware that users can appreciate is what really creates a magical experience. And a magical experience is what Microsoft hopes to create with Windows 8’s new Start Menu, application development techniques and faster boot times.

We’ve compiled some of the best tablets to help users get acquainted with Windows as Microsoft wants users to experience it today. While these tablets all offer their on positives in negates for users, each allows the user to exploit the duality of Windows 8’s desktop and Metro-style interface, whether it before for work or play with their available accessories and sometimes bold form factors

While the Acer Iconia W510 certainly did nothing to change our opinions of devices that rely on Intel’s 1.8 GHz ATOM processors, the simple fact is that it’s 10.1 inch screen, 2GB of RAM and 32 GB SSD might be just the thing to appease those who aren’t necessarily looking for a desktop replacement or only have light computing needs like web browsing and enjoying media. Speaking of enjoying media, this tablet will allow those users to load desktop applications like iTunes, making it a perfect blend of what’s new and old for past Windows hardware users. Its $399 price tag should also please users’ wallets.

Travis, you may want to recheck your facts about the Dell XPS 10, I just got out of chat with a Rep from Dell about the XPS 10. The only way you get the $299.00 price is if you buy another system. I don’t know what system(s) one has to buy for the lower price but, you cannot get the XPS 10 for $299.0O, their base price for the XPS 10 starts at $399.00, their package deal for the XPS 10 starts at $549.99!

I complained about inability to install apps to SD card the first day Samsung 3 was available! I pre-ordered a 3. Samsung told me they were unaware of it and would look into it. My carrier Sprint was ignorant.
