Red HTC One Arriving Soon, U.S. Release Unknown

The red HTC One, which surfaced back when HTC first announced the HTC One earlier this year, is finally official with UK retailer Phones4U claiming that it will be offering the red variant of HTC’s flagship come mid-July, without offering a specific release date for the new color.

When HTC announced the HTC One all the way back in February of this year, the company put the device up on a splash page on its website. That splash page curiously contained three colors, not the two that the company had unveiled. On the page were both the silver and black versions of the HTC One, however, they were joined by a mysterious red HTC One.

The red HTC One will arrive in the UK in mid-July.

It wasn’t long before HTC got rid of the red HTC One and disavowed all knowledge of it, strange, for a device that seemed to have made a very official appearance.

Over the past few months, we’ve seen hints of the red HTC One and finally, after months of rumor, the red HTC One has made its presence known in an official manner.

Phones4U, a retailer in the United Kingdom, will be launching the new “Glamour Red” HTC One sometime during the month of July. It specifically says mid-July though it does not provide a specific release date. It also says that the device will be an exclusive which could mean that Phones4U will be the only place to buy it, at least in the United Kingdom.

The red HTC One will keep the same features as the other variants.

Exclusives, as we’ve seen, can also be temporary but at this point, at the start, this should be the only place for consumers to grab it.

The red HTC One looks exactly as consumers might remember it. A bright red coat plastered on the full metal design of the HTC One. The device will also retain all of the other features of the HTC One including its 4.7-inch display, its Ultrapixel camera, its quad-core processor, and its Android Jelly Bean and Sense 5 operating system.

The device is currently available in a number of regions, including the United States, where the HTC One is available on AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint and will be coming to Verizon Wireless at some point in the future. It could be that one of these carriers pick it up in the future though that remains unclear.

HTC is also expected to debut at blue HTC One at some point, though the release date is unknown.

A nice tacky red. What did I expect from Verizon? Would have been too easy to release it metallic like it was while all those other carriers have had it for months now…way too easy. Red. SMH.
