The 5 Best Android Smartphones [July, 2013]

Published

on

Summer is now in full swing and fortunately, or unfortunately, for smartphone shoppers, that means that the Android smartphone market is sizzling with options. Those who are looking for a new smartphone will certainly have a wide selection to choose from during the month of July, however, because there are so many good options, finding one may prove to be a difficult task.

The beginning of the year was unkind to Android smartphone shoppers. Companies, instead of adding large numbers of smartphones to their lineups, decided to take it much slower than in years past. And for the first four to five months of 2013, the Android smartphone selection was a bit smaller than it was just a year in the past. However, now that summer is in full swing, things have changed.

Instead of an Android smartphone lineup with only a few options, the Android market is now loaded with a number of big name smartphones with several others likely on the way in the near future. For smartphone shoppers, this is both good and bad. Good because it means the selection is as good as it has been during the new year and bad, because it means that finding a new device is going to be extremely challenging.

Fortunately, like always, there are a few Android devices that standout amongst the rest, devices that consumers should have on any shopping list. And while it’s extremely hard to nail down the best of the best on Android thanks to the many phones on the market, we’ve done the best we can to come up with the five Android smartphones that we think are best, overall, Android smartphones on the market.

That said, here are the devices that we feel make up the five best Android smartphones for the month of July, 2013.

Nexus 4

Nexus 4

The Nexus 4, despite its lack of 4G LTE, remains one of the best options when it comes to the Android platform.

For one, despite advancements in other devices, it still possesses some fantastic specifications including a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution, quad-core processor, solid 8MP camera, and a design that isn't made of metal but is still nice nonetheless.

It also has all of the features of a Nexus smartphone including vanilla Android and it's available unlocked starting at $299, unheard of in the smartphone world.
