Motorola Droid RAZR HD Successor, Droid Ultra Appears on Motorola

Published

on

The Motorola Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR HD MAXX should see an update soon to the Droid Ultra and Droid Ultra MAXX, and this morning the Motorola website lists the Droid Ultra with a small description of the phone’s design.

The Droid Ultra webpage lists a collection of specs, but these are most certainly not the specs for the Droid Ultra, or even a rumored Droid Ultra Mini. Even without a lot of details this is a promising leak for Droid RAZR and RAZR HD owners looking for a new phone that can deliver similar build quality and the super-long battery life of the Droid RAZR MAXX.

The Droid Ultra webpage copy teases a thin and strong Droid RAZR HD followup with the typical Kevlar finish and a collection of colors.

Available in a bunch of glossy colors, this high-grade DuPont™ Kevlar body proves you can be even thinner and still be tough as steel.

There is no Droid Ultra photo included in the webpage teaser, but with multiple colors teased, we can expect to see the standard black and white as well as a more colorful options like purple and red, both of which have made appearances in the past.

The Droid RAZR Ultra and Droid RAZR Ultra MAXX as well as a Droid RAZR Ultra M or Mini are rumored to arrive on Verizon later this year. We don’t have a specific timing on the Droid RAZR Ultra release, but a fall launch is very likely based on previous Motorola launches.

Motorola’s Droid Ultra webpage lists specs, but these are for an older phone. We expect Ultra points to high end specs like a 1080P HD display and a new processor, possibly a Snapdragon 600 processor which powers the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4. The Droid Ultra MAXX will likely feature a massive 3300mAh or larger battery. Even if Motorola delivers a larger higher resolution display we anticipate long battery life on the Ultra MAXX.

Depending on the timing, we can expect Android 4.3 on the new Droid RAZR MAXX HD model or possibly even Android 5.0, depending on when it arrives.

Motorola is also planning the Motorola X Phone for an October release. The Moto X Phone will be made in the USA, and should arrive on several carriers later this year.
