iPhone 6 Concept Seamlessly Blends Colors and Aluminum

Published

on

This new iPhone 6 concept combines a larger display, seamless color options, aluminum and a slim new look to show us an iPhone 6 that looks good enough to come out of the labs at Apple.

Some of the iPhone 6 concept features like a glowing Apple logo might not make it past Jony Ive, but overall this is a slick-looking iPhone 6 concept that offers the best example of how Apple could offer an iPhone 6 in multiple colors.

The iPhone 6 concept comes from i-phone6.de, which shares a small sample of photos of what they imagine the new iPhone will look like when apple gets around to offering an iPhone 6.

The image below shows off a closer look at the iPhone 6 concept, which the creator also shares in multiple colors.

One of the recurring rumors is that Apple will offer the iPhone 5S or a future iPhone, like the iPhone 6 in multiple color options. This has been the subject of many concepts, but so far this offers the best looking approach at merging colors across the iPhone and iOS. In iOS 7, various parts of the OS adopt colors from the background, so a red background, like the one in the concept could offer an even deeper color experience.

The concept would come in 10 color options, which is a bit much for an iPhone 6 that comes to market, but the idea of blending the color into the front of the iPhone. The only break in color is an aluminum band that runs along the side of the iPhone 6. This provides a nice separation of color that makes both band and overall color stand out.

Like most iPhone 6 concepts, this one features a new take on the iPhone home button, swapping the mechanical home button with the touch sensitive home button. While the concept creator doesn’t dive into any more details about the functionality of this, it may play into the thinner design.

The iPhone 6 concept features a larger 4.5-inch display and a thinner design. By combining a thinner, taller and wider design with a touch sensitive button there is more room for a battery inside the smaller frame. The side of the device also features touch sensitive buttons for volume control built into the aluminum, which are interesting, but may not replace consumers’ love for tactile feel for volume buttons.

The iPhone 6 release isn’t expected until 2014 according to multiple analysts. Rumors point to an iPhone 5S release this fall, possibly in September. While the iPhone 5S will likely look much like the iPhone 5, with a few standout features, the iPhone 6 will likely offer a completely new design.
