Verizon HTC One Release Could Be Weeks Away

The Verizon HTC One finally has a possible release date as a leaked document seems to indicate that the HTC One release on Verizon could be taking place on August 1st, or, just a few weeks from now.

For weeks now, rumors in regards to the HTC One on Verizon have waged on. The device is very official and yet, the companies involved have not released any specific information about the highly anticipated smartphone. That means that the device is still without a release date, still without official features and still without any official pricing.

While it looks like it will be the same HTC One that launched on AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint, speculation in regards to its release date has run rampant though it appears that interested consumers are getting much closer to an announcement. Just yesterday, the Verizon HTC One passed through the FCC and now, thanks to PhoneArena, we have a rumored date.

What appears to be a leaked Verizon roadmap shows the Verizon HTC One release date as August 1st. That is just a day after the HTC One Google Play promo ends, a promo that we recently said was extended to July 30th for unknown reasons. That date is smack in the middle of summer which lends some credibility to the date though until Verizon announces specifics, nothing is set in stone.

This roadmap shows a Verizon HTC One release date of August 1st.

This alleged roadmap shows a Verizon HTC One release date of August 1st.

The date does fall outside the month of July and means consumers would have several more weeks of waiting for the high-end device, however, it is much sooner than that heavily rumored September 5th release date that we said unlikely.

Whatever the case may be, it’s looking increasingly likely that we’re getting close to an Verizon HTC One release date announcement and an end to the rumor and speculation that have enveloped this device since earlier in the year when Verizon failed to announce it at launch.

Should the Verizon HTC One keep the same features as the other variants, it will boast a 4.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, Ultrapixel camera, full-metal design and Android Jelly Bean with the new Sense 5.

The roadmap also shows a number of other possible release dates including an August 23rd release for the Moto X, Motorola’s new customizable smartphone that has been rumored for Verizon’s network.

It doesn’t, however, show any release dates for the rumored Droid Mini, Droid Ultra and Droid MAXX.
