Eye-Popping, Wallet-Lightening Lumia 1020 Now Available for Pre-Order
Photography inclined AT&T users can now pre-order the Nokia Lumia 1020 with its 41 megapixel rear-facing camera.
The Lumia 1020 won’t come cheap. True to the device’s announcement last week, the Lumia 1020 will cost users $299.99 with a two-year service agreement, and $549 with a one-year service agreement. Users looking to pick up the device without a contract will need to pay the entire $659 fee for one up front.
AT&T users will be able to pick from the full choice of colors that the Lumia 1020 ships in. Color choices include Yellow, Black and White. Unfortunately, this device doesn’t come in the Red and Cyan hues that AT&T’s previous Nokia flagship, the Nokia Lumia 920, came in.

As with most of the smartphones it ships, AT&T will not charge users any shipping fees if they order the device online. Users who do pre-order the Lumia 1020 can expect their device to ship on July 23rd.
Announced last week in New York City, the Lumia 1020 sits atop Nokia’s range of Windows Phones. In addition to carrying one of the largest camera sensors ever packed into a smartphone, it also features a slight specifications bump from the internals of the Lumia 920.
Inside, the Lumia 1020 has a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a 4.5” AMOLED display. The Lumia 1020 also ships with the Windows Phone 8 GDR2 and Nokia Amber Updates. Together these updates enable the device’s FM radio playback capabilities and add an option to have the device display the time — even when in sleep.
Both updates will roll out to older Nokia Lumia users over time.
To better take advantage of the Lumia 1020’s high-resolution camera, the Lumia 1020 ships with Nokia Pro Camera, an exclusive application that allows users to control nearly every setting on the Lumia 1020’s camera sensor including exposure times.
AT&T has also made a limited amount of accessories available for the device for purchase starting today. These include the Moshi Anti-Glare Screen Protector, the Zagg Invisible Shield and the Nokia Freelancer Grip Charging Case. The Freelancer Grip adds an external battery, shutter button and tri-pod mount to the device for $59.99
Like most of the accessories for the device, AT&T doesn’t expect to ship the Nokia Freelancer Grip case until July 25th. Two days after it ships the Lumia 1020 itself.
