While it inadvertently confirmed the HTC One Mini for arrival yesterday, HTC has yet to announce the new version of the HTC One. However, with an HTC One Mini release now pegged for August 9th, it looks like it will only be a matter of time before the device is officially announced.

HTC One Mini rumors have been swirling for months and all signs are pointing at an end to those rumors in the near future as it’s clear that HTC has something up its sleeve for the near future. The smaller HTC One has been pegged for arrival sometime this month with a release at some point in August. And with HTC putting up a blog post that all but confirmed the device, it’s clear that we are closer than ever to an HTC One Mini announcement.

While we still don’t know when the company plans to announce the HTC One Mini, a rumor out of @ViziLeaks suggests that the device could be hitting the United Kingdom on August 9th, a date that falls in line with what we’ve heard about the device’s release. That date seems to only apply to the United Kingdom though the UK is typically at the forefront of arrivals so it could be that this is the first HTC One Mini release date or one shared by several different regions.

The HTC One Mini is thought to be coming to T-Mobile USA in the United States though it’s possible that we could see other carriers adopt it before its time is up. Consumers though should not expect Verizon to carry it, at least not at launch, as the carrier is rumored to not have plans to launch it any time soon.

HTC’s new HTC One Mini is said to have a 4.7-inch display, dual-core processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Sense 5 and a metal design that falls in line with the larger HTC One design.

It will likely check in with a price tag that’s cheaper than the HTC One’s, offering consumers something different within the company’s One brand of smartphones.
