Why You Should Wait for the Verizon HTC One

Published

on

The Verizon HTC One is official, though, it continues to torture consumers with an unknown release date, mystery pricing and features that may or may not be the same as the other HTC One variants that have arrived in the United States. That said, many buyers are likely waging an internal debate about whether to wait for the Verizon HTC One release or not.

Several weeks ago, HTC and Verizon finally confirmed, together, that they would be releasing the HTC One on Verizon’s network at some point this summer. The announcement came on June 3rd, more than a month ago, and still, the companies remain mum about the pertinent details.

The HTC One Max is rumored for September with a 6-inch display.

For many, waiting for the Verizon HTC One will be worth it.

Currently, the Verizon HTC One is without a release date though we’ve seen several credible rumors emerge in recent days. It’s without a price tag though consumers can imagine just how much it will likely cost. And we are without any confirmed features though we have seen hints that it will more than likely be similar to the HTC One variants that we’ve seen emerge on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and regional U.S. carrier, Cincinnati Bell.

For whatever reason though, HTC and Verizon aren’t spilling the beans and that means that consumers are simply going to have to wait until they decide the time is right to do so. In the meantime, there are likely many consumers out there waging an internal battle, trying to figure out whether or not the HTC One on Verizon is worth waiting for.

We’ve already delved into some reasons why consumers might not want to wait for HTC and Verizon to get their act together and now, it’s time to take a look at some reasons why consumers might just want to hold off on a new smartphone purchase until the Verizon HTC One release occurs.

What’s A Few More Weeks?

The Verizon HTC One release should be here soon.

The Verizon HTC One release should be here soon.

Those that have been waiting for the Verizon HTC One’s arrival have had a tough go of things as HTC and Verizon have remained mum about its arrival for weeks. However, buyers should expect there to be some movement soon, in regards to its release date.

First off, the Verizon HTC One release date is rumored to be taking place on August 1st, the day after the company stops a Google Play promotion for buyers of its other HTC One variants. This could be its actual release date, it could be a target date, it could be a complete fabrication. But given how long the companies have waited and given how the end of the promotion, August 1st is as good of a candidate as any.

In addition, we’ve seen Android 4.2 Jelly Bean roll out for the HTC One. The Verizon HTC One is said to have Android 4.2 stock, so that could have been one of the hurdles towards release. The other? Verizon’s Droid announcement next week. Perhaps Verizon has been waiting for that date to announce the final details for the HTC One.

All signs point to something happening soon which means that those who are struggling with a final decision should simply just wait a little longer for the device’s arrival. And at that point, consumers can decide if Verizon’s device worth the price of admission or not.

HTC One Remains One of the Best

Simply put, the HTC One is still one of the best smartphones on the market, even now several months after its initial launch in the United States and despite rumors of some big arrivals later in the year including the iPhone 5S and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, it will likely remain one of the best smartphone options for some time to come.

What this means is that buyers should feel comfortable waiting, that the HTC One, particularly the one on Verizon, will still be fantastic even this late in the game.

The Verizon HTC One will likely be similar to the other HTC One models which means that it will come with a full metal design, 4.7-inch 1080p display, Ultrapixel camera, lots of RAM, 32GB of storage space and a competitive price tag.

All of these features will hold up nicely amongst the crop of phones that are set to debut in the second half of 2013. In other words, it’s still going to be worth the wait.

Massive 4G LTE Network

AT&T has made some big strides trying to catch up to Verizon Wireless in terms of 4G LTE service but the carrier still remains second in line next to the monster 4G LTE network that is Verizon Wireless.

With Verizon’s 4G LTE network live in well over 400 markets around the U.S., Verizon HTC One will have access to the nation’s largest 4G LTE network, and one that will be fully rolled out sometime later this year. This is perfect for those that travel and want to keep those fast data speeds. AT&T’s network is in lots of places but it still isn’t as large as Verizon’s while Sprint and T-Mobile continue to lag behind with their 4G LTE deployment.

While the gap is closing, those that want the largest 4G LTE network in the land will want to wait for the Verizon HTC One.

Great Customer Service

The HTC One will be backed by Verizon's fantastic customer support.

The HTC One will be backed by Verizon’s fantastic customer support.

Verizon customer service is continually ranked amongst the best amongst U.S. service providers, something that prospective HTC One buyers should key in on. Most recently, the carrier won yet another J.D. Power award as a leader in customer care, ranking above the likes of AT&T, Sprint and well-ahead of T-Mobile.

Many owners will not see any issues with their HTC One however, if something does occur, it’s nice to know that a major company like Verizon will be easy to deal with.

This may not be a deal breaker, but it’s something for those tempted by other HTC One models to think about while waiting for the Verizon HTC One’s arrival.

Latest Android Software

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean recently rolled out to the HTC One though it has been limited to Europe and Asia. We expect that American carriers will follow suit in the near future though it’s unclear if they will be able to beat Verizon’s HTC One to the punch.

Verizon HTC One owners have nothing to worry about when it comes to software. The device is almost certain to come with Android 4.2, thanks to insider knowledge, and that means that users will only have to look towards Android 4.3 while those who buy an AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile model may have to deal with a bit of a wait.

Better yet, devices like the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2, big name devices, still aren’t equipped with the latest software. So those that aren’t in the business of waiting and those that want their device to get the flagship treatment from companies in terms of timing, will want to take a close look at Verizon’s HTC One.

Nope. Unless they have external memory support at this point I’m out. Made plans already to switch to ATT at the end of this month, so they literally have alil over a week to “wow” me. The only reason I keep checking up on it is to see if they do indeed have microsd support.. If they do I’d gladly stay.. But for 32 GBs less of music, tv shows, movies, ect? Pfft, ATT is where its at.

I have spoken with a Verizon tech on their website. I inquired about the htc one release date. I was told that no one knows. I proceeded to state that I wanted to switch to verizon for the htc one but may chose att if the Wait is too long. The tech than told me that in the guide that they have, it is projected to release August 1st. I then proceeded to ask about pricing and specs. I was told that the price will be $199 on conract. The specs will be the same as other carriers as well. I have the transcript if anyone is curious. Just reply to this comment asking for the transcript.

I also am considering this phone. BUT, this phone has been active on (3) other networks since about April. Seems kinda late in the game to charge a premium price for it at this point. Typical VZW Bullsh…

I have seriously considered ATT, etc to get a NICE phone, but I travel all around and Big Red simply DOES have the best network. I have an S3 right now, but google “Galaxy S3 dropped calls” and read a bit. I am worried that Sammy didn’t fix this with the S4, so I WILL wait upon the ONE. Come on, Verizon, let us have this phone!!!
