HTC One Android 4.3 Update Coming in “Near Future”
A noted HTC insider suggested today that the HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update will roll out at some point in the “near future” though he did not elaborate on exactly when the company might roll out Google’s new software update.
Yesterday, Google announced its new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, an incremental update from Android 4.2 Jelly Bean that introduces a handful of new features to Android users including Bluetooth Low Energy, restricted profiles for tablets like the Nexus 7, improved graphics support, dial pad auto complete and more. It’s a small update but one that Android owners should embrace.

While Google announced the Android 4.3 roll outs for devices like the Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7, devices not called Nexus were left out in the cold. We saw companies like HTC and Samsung issue vague statements in regards to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean yesterday though they didn’t touch on specific devices or timing.
Today, noted HTC leakster and developer @LLabTooFeR claims that the HTC One, HTC’s current flagship, will be getting Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in the “near future.” He doesn’t elaborate on timing of the update but he has been extremely credible in the past so it’s safe to think that HTC is at least working hard to get this update out sooner rather than later.
@sreemoytalukdar Yes it will get 4.3 in near future…

HTC for its part has yet to confirm anything, instead saying that it’s evaluating Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, without offering any concrete details. In the past, the company has come under fire for promising updates and failing to roll them out so consumers should not expect the company to announce any firm details when it comes to Android 4.3 timing.
The company is still in the midst of rolling out Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, an update that emerged just a few short weeks ago, and an update that has yet to hit the HTC One in the U.S.
AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile have yet to roll out Android 4.2 to their HTC One variants and have yet to announce any sort of release timing. We’ve heard that HTC and its U.S. carriers won’t skip Android 4.2 for Android 4.3 so it could be awhile before Android 4.3 rolls out to the HTC One in the U.S.

Android sucks because of update tardiness. By the time update arrives phone is outdated. I’ll go back to apple when eligible for upgrade….

Yay, my name is joe and I have nothing important to say, so I’ll just promote apple. Yay joe! Ever wonder why they sell adapters for iphones so your kids can play with them? Oh yeah, that’s right, they’re geared for the mental capacity of a 2 year old and it shows here.

I’m not Joe. If your such apple fan boy(s), leave now. Apple has hadsny issues over the years (1 or more, made you leave).
I have been with Android (HTC) since the EVO. This is the first time I have been disappointed.

I feel you pain. I went from an IP4 to HTC One and starting to think I made a mistake. HTC inability to promptly get the updates out–is a big problem for me. It’s already tough having to wait for the carrier to get it modified version without HTC adding to it. At least with Apple–they don’t have to deal with the additional carrier bloatware and delay.
