New Nexus 7 Deals Land as Google Play Store Sales Begin

Published

on

The new Nexus 7 is now available on the Google Play Store and will start shipping by its July 30th release date. However, those looking for a deal on the 2013 Nexus 7 should look no further than Staples which currently allows buyers to take $30 off of the device’s $230 and $270 price tags.

Earlier this week, Google announced the new Nexus 7, the successor to the original Nexus 7, and a device that is already in the hands of consumers despite the announced July 30th release date. And while before today, the Nexus 7 was not available on Google Play, the device has made its way to the Google Play Store.

Google’s Nexus landing page now boasts the Nexus 7 in two models, the 16GB and 32GB Wi-Fi only variants. The company says that it will be shipping soon and will be shipping by July 30th. What this likely means is that orders will arrive before July 30th. Of course, there are faster ways of getting the Nexus 7 as retailers like Best Buy already are selling it to consumers.

Furthermore, there are also ways to get the new Nexus 7 for cheap as deals for the new Nexus 7 have already emerged. Staples, one of the retailers that has the Nexus 7 up for sale right now, is offering $30 off the price of the Nexus 7 which trims the 16GB price down to $199 and the 32GB down to $250, or, the same pricing as the original.

Google is now offering the Nexus 7 2 on the Google Play Store.

The deal is only available until July 28th but that gives users a few days to take advantage of the deal. This likely will be only one of several deals that emerge over the next few weeks as Google’s Nexus 7 looks to challenge the iPad mini for tablet supremacy.

Google’s Nexus 7 is also available at several other retailers including Amazon.com, Best Buy, GameStop, Staples and Walmart and it will go on sale at Office Depot, OfficeMax and RadioShack in the near future.

The Nexus 7 features an upgraded 7-inch display, quad-core processor, 5MP camera, slimmer design and 4G LTE data speeds though the LTE model is not on sale yet.

Staples deal was a terrible mistake on their part. It was intended to expire before the new Nexus was available. The idea was to clear out old tablets – not discount the new one. New versions of the coupon specifically exclude the new Nexus. Does not matter – their web site always showed out of stock, until the coupon expired.
