Galaxy Note 2 & Galaxy S3: Signs Point Straight to Android 4.3

Samsung is on an absolute roll with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update roll outs with the company issuing yet another upgrade to its users in the form of a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update that has begun rolling out in the UK ahead of major updates for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.

Over the past few weeks, Samsung has rolled out a number of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean updates to its non-flagship devices. Previously, we have seen updates emerge for the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus, Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and now, the company has begun rolling out Android 4.2 for its larger Galaxy Note, the Galaxy Note 8.0.

The update is rolling out to the LTE model in the United Kingdom, this according to SamMobile, and it brings the device up from Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to Android 4.2. The update brings a number of upgrades along with it, including all of the features found on Android 4.2, and it should be a hefty upgrade for Galaxy Note 8.0 LTE owners.

Samsung typically rolls out its software updates in phases so we should see this spread to more regions around the world in the coming days.

The Galaxy Note 2 has yet to receive a major Android update.

The roll out is just the latest Android 4.2 update that has beaten the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 to the punch. Samsung has yet to confirm anything but rumors and information point to the company skipping Android 4.2 on both devices. Instead, the company may choose to roll out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Google Android software that rolled out to Nexus owners in late July.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 LTE roll out is just another sign of this as Samsung typically rolls out software to its flagship devices first and then rolls it out to other, less adopted devices.

Galaxy Note 2 owners have been toiling on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean since late last year and have yet to receive a major Android update. Galaxy S3 owners received Android 4.1 starting in September and have seen one major incremental update roll out in the form of the Premium Suite which continues to hit owners in the United States.
