The 5 Best Sprint Smartphones [August, 2013]

Published

Picking a new smartphone, particularly one on Sprint, can be an extremely difficult task given the shear amount of options that are on the table. That said, there are some devices that stand out on the Now Network, devices that consumers should have their eye on if buying during the month of August.

This year has been a little different than years past as companies focus on quality and not quantity. That of course doesn’t mean that carriers like Sprint haven’t launched big name smartphones. On the contrary, Sprint like other carriers, is currently home to a wealth of top smartphone choices that likely have the ears and eyes of many consumers. It also helps that Sprint’s network remains a solid option for consumers.

For one, the carrier is continuing to expand its 4G LTE network. While it’s still not on par with the likes of AT&T and Verizon, it has been making headway and it should be on pace to complete its 4G LTE roll out in 2014. Furthermore, the carrier has its network live in plenty of big markets across the U.S. which means that for millions of Americans, its worth a look.

Additionally, the Now Network remains the only major carrier in the U.S. that still offers pure, unlimited data to new customers. While other carriers offer tiered data and throttled data speeds, Sprint allows new customers to sign up for pure unlimited data to suit their needs.

Sprint also offers some top notch smartphones though, as we’ve pointed out in the past, a stacked lineup also makes it hard to pick out the best smartphones from the rest of the pack. Fortunately, Sprint has had a quiet few months here and so picking those devices out for the month of August is easy.

We do expect the carrier to introduce some big name smartphones in September including the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and iPhone 5S, but there are those that simply cannot wait until next month.

For people that are buying in August, here are what we consider to be the five best Sprint smartphones for the month of August, 2013.

iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 remains one of Sprint's top options, now before the iPhone 5S launch. It will still remain a solid choice after the iPhone 5S launch as well thanks to top notch features like its 8MP camera, industrial design, fantastic screen, and more.

Maybe best of all though is the fact that buying an iPhone 5 right now will still allow owners to get software support throughout the duration of their contract.

Apple typically updates its devices for three years and iOS 7 will be the first major iOS update that the iPhone 5 receives. It should get two more down the line meaning this is still a quality buy, a year after launch.
