Samsung Galaxy Note 3: 5 Key Features Leak Out

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 won’t arrive until September 4th but thanks to leaks, we now have a good bead on the device that Samsung will be announcing ahead of IFA 2013.

For months, Galaxy Note 3 rumors have waged on, offering consumers a glimpse at what to expect from the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 when it arrives on shelves later this year. While nothing is confirmed, and won’t be until Samsung’s launch event on September 4th in Berlin, Germany, Galaxy Note 3 rumors continue to add up and paint a picture of the device that will be replacing the Galaxy Note 2.

We’ve heard a number of rumors passed along about the Galaxy Note 3 though none have been as extensive as today’s leak from SamMobile which claims that it has the drop on Samsung’s brand new Galaxy Note model.

Instead of just pieces, the report claims a number of different things about Samsung’s upcoming device. The publication, which has been accurate in the past, claims that the device will be boasting a number of high-end features though there are five of them that standout as key features that will be on the Galaxy Note 3.

5.68-inch Full HD Super AMOLED Display

Rumors all along have suggested that Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 will be around 5.7-inches in size and according to this rumor, it will technically check in at 5.68-inches in size and boast a 1080p display, something else that has been rumored.

The Galaxy Note 3 is expected to have a larger display than the Galaxy Note 2, seen here.

While this doesn’t necessarily kill off rumors that suggested LCD displays, flexible displays, or displays with larger or smaller sizes, it does make them less likely.

13MP Camera with Optical Image Stabilization

Galaxy Note 3 rumors converged on a 13MP camera very early on and these rumors agree with the earlier ones. What this means is that the Galaxy Note 3 should have a camera sensor that is on par with the Galaxy Note 3’s.

What’s more though is that these rumors suggest that the Galaxy Note 3 will indeed have optical image stabilization that will ensure smooth looking photos and video, without the blurriness.

Storage

Interestingly, the report claims that Samsung will announce its usual 16GB, 32GB and 64GB Galaxy Note variants but that it will be the 32GB Galaxy Note 3 that is the most prominent.

In the past, we’ve seen the 16GB Galaxy Note emerge as the adopted variant though that appears as though it might change with the Galaxy Note 3. It could be that the complaints about the Galaxy S4’s storage space, which was eaten up from the start by Samsung’s hefty TouchWiz software, spurred this decision.

It is unclear if this means that carrier will adopt both the 16GB and 32GB models, or simply the 32GB model. In the past, carriers did not offer any options on the Galaxy Note so this is a good sign either way.

Design

There were rumors suggesting that Samsung might have a vastly different design up its sleeve but these rumors suggest that the Galaxy Note 3 will actually share a design with the Galaxy Note 2.

The Galaxy Note 3 may have a Galaxy Note 2 design.

In fact, it’s thought to have the same dimensions as the Galaxy Note 2 while also employing a larger display. The device was originally thought to be thinner than the Galaxy Note 2 which checks in at 9.3mm thin and weighs 180 grams.

This also likely means that it will keep Samsung’s iconic plastic design with a removable back.

Processor

In addition, it appears that the device will sport 4G LTE and come with a 3,200 mAh battery and 3GB of RAM as has been rumored. It also should arrive with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Of course, this all remains rumor until Samsung confirms it, it’s looking like this could be the makeup of the new Galaxy Note 3 phablet, Samsung’s second big smartphone of the year.

Nice piece but there’s on typo in the camera section “What this means is that the Galaxy Note 3 should have a camera sensor that is on par with the Galaxy Note 3′s.”.

Well only bother upgrading to note 3 if they release a64gb model in the UK, I’m sick of 16gb models full of bloatware!

Who needs all that when I already have all on my rooted note 2 minus the 13mp camera and a few clicks larger on the display. What sad and boring news! Yaaaawn!!

I agree. The sound could be better on the note and for me especially. I’m a little hard of hearing and even the volume booster apps don’t help any.
