Verizon HTC One Release Comes in Dead Last

Published

on

Back in early June, the Verizon HTC One was announced. Just a few days later, regional carrier C Spire also announced the HTC One for arrival. And while C Spire’s HTC One is now available, the Verizon HTC One release remains out of reach.

Just a few days after the heralded Verizon HTC One debut, C Spire, a regional carrier in the United States, announce an HTC One of its own. Since June 11th, C Spire had been silent about the prospects of its HTC One but today, the carrier made good on its promise and released the HTC One into the wild to compete with the likes of the iPhone 5.

The Verizon HTC One is coming, it's just a matter of when.

The Verizon HTC One is coming, it’s just a matter of when.

The device is the exact same device that we saw arrive on a host of U.S. carriers back in April of this year and it sports a 4.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, metal design, Ultrapixel camera and the new Sense 5 with BlinkFeed, Zoe and BoomSound. It’s a solid device and it should be a welcomed addition to the C Spire lineup.

Of course, what this means is that the Verizon HTC One is now almost certainly going to be the last launch in the United States as it remains the only announced HTC One without a release date and unfortunately did not arrive on shelves today, one of several rumored release dates.

C Spire becomes the latest HTC One carrier in the U.S.

Other rumored Verizon HTC One release dates include August 23rd and August 29th which both remain distinct possibilities given what we’ve seen occur in recent days.

Over the past week, we’ve seen Verizon start making actual preparations for the HTC One release including a sign up page for prospective customers and the emergence of stock HTC One accessories on the carrier’s website. Consumers are still without a release date, but it’s clear that the Verizon HTC One should come soon.

The launch will have been preceded by the HTC One’s arrival on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile where it has been available since late April. The device also arrived on regional carrier Cincinnati Bell several months ago as well.

My Verizon rep said Aug 29. My brother’s Verizon rep (last week) said today. No one at local Verizon stores know, its all speculation.

Late September? They just had a conference call today around 1pm Cen. and it is being released the 29th, 16 and 32gb, apparently with Android 4.1. No word on price or the blue version.

16 gb with no micro sd expansion??? Blow me, Verizon. Why am i not surprised they made a special 16 gb version for Verizon (if its true).

You forgot all the VZW bloatware so it’ll be a useful 12-13gb

They’ll charge 199.00 for the 16gb, and 299.00 for the 32gb, so people will buy crappy Droids. Frustrated as hell (if its true).

i dont know where you guys got 16gb from but no where no carrier i looked at them all even locals around the country and havent seen one 16gb 32 or 64 from what i have been told by my rep’s (my cousin) boss is aug 23 or 29th (though he is leaning towards 29th) their is a blue one along with silver and black and to make up for a crappy launch verizon is going to relase it at 149.99. it will be android 4.2.2 coming out of the box.

I didn’t say it was 100% fact. The way this launch has gone with rumors, I won’t believe it until I see it on the shelf. The conference call said 16gb, 4.1 and no word on price…that was as of 1:30pm. Your cousin says he has them in store…my old store does not. So it’s all he said/she said/Adam keeps repeating bullshit.

That’s what I wanna hear. 32gb, 149.00, and Android 4.2. Problem is, everyone claims to have the correct info, and its all conflicting. Who’s right?

Hasn’t that been the case with this whole launch? I’m not claiming to have the correct info. I’m stating what I’ve seen/heard today at my old store. At this point to me it’s all bs. Like I said before, I won’t believe it until I see it. I just wanted to put up more reliable information than what Adam keeps regurgitating. I should have said that I was at the right hand of Lowell and that it will launch tomorrow in red, blue, green, silver, black with 4.3, removable memory. That would have been more entertaining.

There is no definite word. It will be this or that. So what. It’s mid august and Verizon is making it’s customers wait for a device that’s been out for 5 months? Sources said the Droid launch took precedent over everythi ing else and won’t allow any competing device to steal it’s thunder. Verizon should just cancel the launch of HTC One.

Why would Verizon want to release this phone so close to the iPhone? I have to pay full price because I refuse to contract with Verizon any more. Like the Thunderbolt the One will be forgotten when it comes to os updates. But… They have me by the balls because other networks suck where I live

As far as updates, Verizon (today) also tweeted it will have 4.2.2, so at least its a step up. I’d still take it over the droids, LG G2, MOTO X, and iPhone.
