HTC One Max Launch Getting Closer

Published

on

The HTC One Max launch date is getting closer as the device has been spotted passing not one, not two, but three Wi-Fi certifications ahead of its upcoming battle with Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3.

It’s becoming clear that HTC and Samsung are set to met again, this time in a battle for large screen smartphone supremacy. Samsung, in the past, has dominated the phablet world with its Galaxy Note series of devices. The Galaxy Note ushered in a new era of massive displays and last year’s Galaxy Note 2 continued the popular trend. So it should come as no surprise that other manufacturers, including HTC, are looking to tap into the market.

This year, Samsung is expected to launch a Galaxy Note 3 with September 4th all but confirmed as its launch date. On paper, the device is looking like a worthy successor to the Galaxy Note 2, and a device that consumers likely have their eye on. This year’s Galaxy Note though looks like it will have stiffer competition than the likes of the LG Intuition which was one of the Galaxy Note 2’s only threats.

One of the Galaxy Note 3’s main rivals appears to be the HTC One Max, a massive version of HTC’s current flagship, the HTC One, and a device that appears set for a debut in the weeks or months ahead.

The HTC One Max launch date is still unknown but it’s clear that it’s getting closer thanks to a trio of Wi-Fi certifications spotted by Blog of Mobile. Three models of the HTC One Max, also known as the HTC T6, passed through the Wi-Fi Alliance. It appears that all three have since been taken down but they point to at least three HTC One Max variants.

The HTC T6_U is expected to be a non-LTE variant. The HTC T6_ULA is expected to be a variant that possesses Advanced LTE and the T6_WL is thought to be the device that will be hitting North America.

Certifications are a sign that the HTC One Max launch is inching closer but they don’t point to anything being imminent. HTC is rumored to be launching the HTC One Max in the fourth quarter which would mean sometime October, November or December, long after the Galaxy Note 3 launch.

So while it’s clear that the HTC One Max is getting closer to release, it could still be several weeks away from touch down.
