Personalize your iPhone with Mophie Juice Pack Helium’s New Colors

By  |  0 Comments

iPhone 5 users may have been able to pick up one of Mophie’s Juice Pack Helium battery cases to extend their device’s battery life for some time, but there hasn’t been any real way to express their personality with a particular color or hue. Until now.

Essentially this is the same Mophie Juice Pack Helium for the iPhone 5 that GottaBeMobile reviewed earlier this year. As a battery-case, the $79.95 Mophie Juice Pack Helium wraps around the edges and rear of the user’s iPhone 5, protecting it from scrapes and other trauma while adding the ability to boost the iPhone 5’s battery life by as much as 80%.

While the original device shipped in a staid black, users can choose between the editions of the accessory in black, blue, pink, green, silver and purple. There’s also the option to buy the device in Red with a percentage of the proceeds from that color going to the Product (RED) foundation.

During our review, we found that the Juice Pack Helium was incredibly useful in between charge cycles during a long day. The battery pack’s relatively thin footprint and tasteful design also impressed us, even if we weren’t too thrilled about having to use a headphone port extender for some of our favorite headsets.

Although extended battery packs have a reputation for only really being useful for power users who have above average battery life demands, the Mophie Juice Pack Helium’s new color options make it a great choice for anyone looking to add a bit of personality to their iPhone 5 with a case.

Unfortunately, those who are looking to upgrade from the iPhone 5 to the iPhone 5S and might want to hold off on grabbing the Juice Pack Helium. As the battery case is specifically tailored for the iPhone 5, any design changes introduced with the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C could render the device incompatible. Since color options for both of those devices have been all but officially confirmed, those looking to add a little color to their iPhone experiences with the updated iPhone line won’t need a case to do so. There has been no word on what kind of battery life users can expect when upgrading to these devices though, if Apple is able to significantly boost battery life that would also make the Mophie Juice Pack Helium less of a necessity for some users.

Users can buy the Mophie Juice Pack Helium in each of its colors from the company’s website now.
