For months, Galaxy Note 3 rumors have waged on and tomorrow, we will finally find out what is real and what is not. Samsung will also likely detail some of the other big details as well, specifically, the Galaxy Note 3 release date. Rumors have suggested a number of different things with whispers pointing to a couple of different dates in September. As it stands, it’s looking like the device will definitely be out in some regions sometime this month. The Galaxy Note 3 U.S. release date remains a bit of a mystery though as rumors have been scarce. Just a day ahead of the device’s launch, we haven’t seen anything big emerge but we do have some clues. Here, we breakdown everything we know about the Galaxy Note 3 U.S. release date.Advertisement There Are Signs Unfortunately, we still haven’t seen any Galaxy Note 3 U.S. release date leaks emerge, a sign that we could be a little ways away from specific concrete dates for the carriers that will carry the Galaxy Note 3. However, there are a couple of things to consider before consumers leap to that conclusion. First off, the Galaxy S4 launch. We saw the main announcement take place in New York City which we believed would lead to a quick Galaxy S4 release in the U.S. We were dead on about that as the United States was one of the first nation’s to see the device launch. It joined other nation’s like the United Kingdom, Russia and Taiwan. The Galaxy Note 3 launch may not be taking place in the U.S. but we wouldn’t read too much into that. First of all, Samsung has been trying to shorten the gap between launch and release in the U.S. for quite some time and the Galaxy S4 was a prime example of that. The Galaxy Note 3 U.S. release could mirror the Galaxy S4’s. Second, with the smartphone market as competitive as it is this year, especially in the big screen niche, Samsung can’t afford to release the Galaxy Note 3 as late as the Galaxy Note 2. The Galaxy Note 2 didn’t touch down until late October. The United States is a key battle ground for Samsung and other Android manufacturers.Advertisement Third, we will see some kind of Galaxy Note 3 event in the United States. Samsung is going to be doing something in Times Square and we’ve speculated that it could lead to some hands-on time as well, something that could signal a relatively close release. The company did the same thing last year with the Galaxy S4. Fourth, Taiwan, which saw the Galaxy S4 around the same time as the United States, saw its release date pegged for September 27th. The UK, which also got the Galaxy S4 around the same time, has seen September 16th and late September pop up.Advertisement So there are some signs that seem to point to a relatively swift U.S. release date. Will all carriers launch early? We doubt it, but consumers shouldn’t be surprised to see the Galaxy Note 3 come much sooner than the Galaxy Note 2. How early though is up for debate. Some Are Signs Are Bad There is also the flip side of the coin. While there are plenty of signs that point to a quick release, there are also some things that consumers should be a bit worried about. Rumors suggest a number of U.S. carriers including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. In fact, rumors agree on their model numbers which should wind up looking like this: SM-N900A – AT&T Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900T – T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900V – Verizon Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900S – Sprint Galaxy Note 3 Problem is, we haven’t seen any of those model numbers pass through the FCC or any certifications which are typically roadblocks ahead of release. Perhaps they’ve cruised through unnoticed, something that is unlikely, or perhaps they will pass through after tomorrow. How soon though is anyone’s guess as it could be days, or perhaps weeks before these devices get the proper certifications. Devices typically see certifications arrive well before their release date. These missing certifications don’t necessarily spell doom for a quick release, but, given that we typically see them emerge a few weeks ahead of time, it’s a reason to start tempering Galaxy Note 3 U.S. release expectations a little bit. It would be shocking given the Galaxy S4 launch and the increased competition to see the Galaxy Note 3 release slip all the way to late October and November but with Android launches, anything is possible. There is Always a Pre-Order Carriers like Verizon should offer a pre-order. But will it be around September 16th? We haven’t seen any specific dates yet but the fact that we’ve seen a September 16th pre-order date mentioned for Taiwan is a sign that buyers across the globe, including the U.S., should get a pre-order at some point down the road. Historically, Samsung and its U.S. carriers have offered Galaxy Note and Galaxy S pre-orders so we fully expect them to offer one this time around, perhaps even as early as September 16th. That remains unconfirmed though. If the U.S. does get the Galaxy Note 3 in late September, look for U.S. carriers to fall in line and offer a pre-order in early-to-mid September. If it comes later, a pre-order a few weeks ahead of time. Hopefully, we’ll find all this out, and more, tomorrow but there is no guarantee as U.S. carriers often play their cards close to their chest.
