A new photo pulled from an FCC filing for the LG G2 depict a device different from the LG G2 and one that lines up with the leaks we’ve seen emerge for the rumored LG Nexus 5, Google’s possible Nexus 4 successor.

Nexus 5 rumors have been heating up in recent weeks, thanks to an Android 4.4 KitKat video that leaked an unknown Nexus smartphone and a mysterious FCC filing that seemed to confirm several possible Nexus details.

There was a bit of back and forth but it now appears that the device spotted at the FCC might actually be the device that we saw in Google’s video.

Today, there is even more proof as photos, discovered by PhoneScoop within a Verizon LG G2 FCC filing, appear to show the same device in the flesh, passing through the FCC. The photos don’t confirm this to be a Nexus device but the overall design matches up with the possible Nexus 5 that appear in the video and at the FCC.

We see the large camera sensor tucked in the corner. We see the black matte design that falls in line with what we’ve seen. And we see that this is an LG device, something that has been rumored for weeks. We don’t see a Nexus logo but that doesn’t mean that this isn’t the device in question That is likely hidden on purpose so as not to give the phone away.

There is also a blurred shot of the front of the device where we see the display though the photo is so blurry that it’s hard to make anything out.

This is how it could look from the front, though, we caution that this likely isn't a retail version.

So, evidence is starting to suggest that the phone that popped up in the video is more than just a prototype or a prototype but something far more real. And with all of the rumors swirling, it’s entirely possible that this is the upcoming Nexus 5 from Google and LG.

This of course doesn’t do anything for rumors that have suggested that Google will also be releasing a Motorola Nexus in the fourth quarter of this year. Perhaps Motorola is going to be missing out thanks to LG, perhaps we’re going to see two Nexus 5’s emerge to replace the Nexus 4. It’s not entirely clear at this point.

LG Nexus 5 rumors have suggested that the device could take after the LG G2 from a hardware standpoint and offer a fantastic 1080p display, fast processor and 4G LTE data speeds. It should also usher in the new Android 4.4 KitKat update as well.
