GTA 5 for PS4 & PC References Allegedly Found in Game Code
GTA 5 for PS4 may be in the works, with a tip coming from code that appeared online from a pirated Xbox 360 version of the game. This alleged code also shows references for GTA 5 on PC.
The GTA 5 release date is tomorrow, but early copies of the game went on sale over the weekend, and a pirated Xbox 360 version of GTA 5 is making the rounds on file sharing networks.
This alleged GTA 5 code comes from the pirated version of the game, and shows references for “Orbis” and PC configurations. Orbis was an early code name for the PS4 dev kit, which means it is possible Rockstar is playing GTA 5 on PS4 internally.

DualShockers spotted the reference in a Pastebin dump of the GTA 5 code for Xbox, linking to the original code for users who understand the inner workings of games.
This is a bit of bright news on the eve of the GTA 5 release, but there is a chance that the GTA 5 on PS4 reference is simply placed there by the hacker, same for the PC GTA 5 config code.
Notably there is no mention of a GTA 5 on Xbox One code showing up on this leaked file, though if Rockstar makes GTA 5 for one of the new consoles we could expect it on both.
Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment was asked about the code on Twitter, responding, “I don’t know.”

Sony appeared to confirm GTA 5 on the PS4 in late August in a Tweet, but Sony apologized for the error and Rockstar said that it was just a typo.
GTA 5 publisher Rockstar is candid about plans for a GTA 5 on PS4 release, skirting direct questions from publications who ask about the future of the series.

The good news is that GTA 5 Online appears to be a living and breathing game which Rockstar will expand. In an interview with Game Informer, Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies shared the scope of GTA 5 Online, hinting at the inclusion of other GTA worlds.
Benzies told Game Informer, via IGN, that the goal is,
“to create an entire Grand Theft Auto world that consists of everything we’ve done or are going to do then let the player freely move between them.”
With this in mind we could see GTA 5 Online expand to Liberty City and Vice City in the future. Rockstar is planning a game that users can play for years, not months, explains Benzies,
“We’ve always wanted to create a world with the complexity of a single-player Grand Theft Auto game with the addition of real players. We wanted a world where people could spend years without getting bored of playing the same content over and over.”
“I think we’ve managed to achieve something very close to our dream.”
With years of gameplay in mind, it seems reasonable to expect GTA 5 on PS4 and Xbox sometime in the future, just don’t get too excited for a release this year or in early 2014 as Rockstar undoubtedly wants to set records with the GTA 5 release for Xbox 360 and PS4.
