Currently the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the only device that works with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, so it makes sense for a timed launch. AT&T sells the Galaxy Gear separate of the Note 3, while Verizon only sells them as a bundle. Shoppers who buy a Galaxy Note 3 on Verizon or any other carrier can purchase the Galaxy Gear from any store, as the smart watch is not tied to a carrier.
