iOS 7.0.3 Update Could Bring Two Major Fixes

Published

on

The next iOS update, thought to be iOS 7.0.3, could bring two major fixes to owners of Apple’s mobile devices. The first, an official and permanent fix for the iMessage issues that continue to plague iPhone users, the other, a problem with the software on board iPads that were delivered to school districts for use in the classroom.

Earlier this week, Apple confirmed that it was working on a fix for the iMessage issues that have cropped up since the company delivered the iOS 7, iOS 7.0.1 and iOS 7.0.2 updates in September. Many iPhone users have been unable to send or receive iMessages, forcing them to instead rely on text messages and temporary fixes to address the problem.

The reset network settings fix has solved the problem for many iPhone users, but we can confirm that the issue appear again today, after a couple of days of laying dormant. Apple did not say what update would bring the iMessage fix to iPhone users but with iOS 7.0.3 in testing and rumors suggesting a release next week, it could be that the update bring a permanent solution to iPhone users.

It appears that Apple is also dealing with another major iOS 7 issue, this one affecting iPads that were sent to school districts so that students could use the slate in the classroom. The devices come armed with supervision profiles so that teachers can monitor the usage of their students but according to AllThingsD, the supervision profiles are broken in iOS 7.

The iOS 7 update for the iPad mini is a great upgrade.

Without the supervision profile in place, teachers are unable to remotely monitor the usage of their students and filters, that were instituted to control what kids could look at, are supposedly down. It appears that the problem is not an isolated issue, much like the iMessage problems, and is widespread, affecting iPads across the country.

Fortunately, Apple is aware of the problem and the company confirmed that it is working on a fix for the issue that will be delivered inside of an update sometime this month, meaning a fix inside the iOS 7.0.3 update is a distinct possibility.

Rumors also suggest that Apple is working on an iOS 7.1 update, an update that could come with the iPad mini 2 and the iPad 5. Given that they aren’t supposed to arrive for several weeks, the iOS 7.0.3, at this point, seems to be the most likely candidate for these fixes.

There seems to be a quicker fix to the iMessage issue. It’s worked twice for me, out of two times.
Touch and hold the failed message and then choose to send as text. If the person replies with iMessage, the service starts working again.

Probably your software is corrupt and you’ll have to restore it as new.

Sync your phone to itunes, make sure you’re logged into icloud and have everything turned on, so that your info is stored in the cloud. Go to Settings > general > reset > erase all content and settings. Don’t restore from a backup, just choose “set up as a new phone” sign into iCloud so that your info comes back down, then plug the phone to itunes and sync your apps and music back. You’ll be missing old text messages but it will solve your issue.

Doubt the battery issue’s going away anytime soon. With any computer programming, squishing your “run of the mill” bugs is one thing but maximizing power efficiency requires much more novel finesse. For whatever reason, the code for ios 7 wound up being what appears to be more bloated, given it was apparently built from the ground up. Ultimately, I don’t complain about battery life because I’m too grateful for the fact that were essentially walking around with whole computers in our pocket..the fact that such a thing could even last for one hour is a blessing. I’m constantly on the go but keep my phone charged.

this must be a joke ! IOS 7 causes much more heavy problems such as constant reboots and freeze (iphone & iPad) ; unacceptable battery drain – thanks to all that will tell “turn apps refresh out”: I bought an iPhone 5S with IOS7 for this function as advertised –, constant data connectivity lost in 3G …… a look at apple forums says it all … I cannot imagine that they will only fix imessage stuff (less and less people use it since more and more people are using android based smartphone) and the school teacher stuff …
by the way if they improved the battery usage in maverick as well as they do it in IOS7 they are not going to sell a lot of them (given that battery drain in mountain was a problem ???)

Any plans to address the lack of volume control so many 4s users seem to be experiencing? More specifically, no volume control bar in Control Center or Music, and side buttons not working (yes, it’s turned on in settings). Ringer still rings but no volume on anything else. Alerts just vibrate, music and videos completely silent with no volume control slider. Ringer volume must be adjusted in settings.

I have a problem transferring music files (MP3, AAC, etc) from the latest iTunes (on win 7) to the Iphone equipped with IOS7.02. Firstly Iphone has syncing problems.Music plays fine in iTunes, but after the transfer (after completing the sync) all files are still playable but they all skip and rearranged in a different listening patterns. Apparently it happens on my Iphone 4 and 5s, which have the same IOS 7.02
Anybody knows if a new patch will solve the described problem as well?

The iOS 7.0.3 update didn’t fix the wifi issue.
