iPhone 5c on Sale for Half Price at Radio Shack

Published

on

Starting today, RadioShack is rewarding users who waited to purchase the iPhone 5c by offering $50 off the price of Apple’s new colorful handset.

According to press release sent by RadioShack, users picking up the iPhone 5c today will save $50 on their purchase, thanks to an in-store gift card. That effectively brings the price of the iPhone 5c with 16GB of storage to $49. Users looking for the iPhone 5c with 32GB of storage will only need pay $149. To get both prices users are required to sign up for a two-year service agreement.

The price cut nearly mirrors the sale being held on the device at Best Buy this weekend. Users who purchase the device there will receive a $50 gift card too. However, unlike RadioShack’s deal, Best Buy shoppers won’t be allowed to use the gift card on the immediate purchase of their device. Instead, they’ll need to redeem it for movies or other products the store sells. RadioShack’s deal will last until November 2nd.

RadioShack isn’t stopping with the $50 gift card for iPhone 5c buyers. The company is encouraging iPhone 5c buyers to bring in their old smartphones to save even more on the device. Trading in a working iPhone 5 will net users $250, while trading in a working iPhone 4s nets users $150. However, users will need to sign-up for a two-year agreement to receive the trade-in credit.

Regardless of which offer they choose, these discounts are good news for potential iPhone 5c buyers that waited until after the device’s launch to pick one up. With iPhone 5c inventory now fully recovered from launch, users can have their pick of the iPhone 5c’s storage and color options.

While RadioShack does allow users to trade in their devices online, the company’s statement to GottaBeMobile makes it pretty clear that users should head to their local participating store to take advantage of the deal. Potential buyers should consult the company’s trade-in search tool before heading to their local stores, just to make sure that they are participating in the trade-in program.
