New Android 4.4 KitKat update screenshots seemingly confirm all of the Nexus 5 rumors that have been swirling around as of late. The new screenshots point to the Nexus 5 sporting powerful hardware which, along with Android 4.4 KitKat, should help to make the new Nexus smartphone a tempting device for those in need of one.

Thanks to a constant stream of rumors and leaks, Google’s upcoming Nexus 5 is out of the shadows ahead of launch. Previous leaks all but confirmed an assortment of features including screen size, processor, storage space, design, and quite possibly the device’s highly anticipated price. Those leaks have been backed up before and today, they’ve been backed up again, this time by Android 4.4 KitKat screenshots that appear to show the powerful hardware of the Nexus 5.

GadgetPipeline, the same site that leaked out Android 4.4 KitKat screenshots last week, has leaked out new Android 4.4 KitKat screenshots that appear to show Android 4.4 KitKat in the wild once again. However, instead of showing Android 4.4 KitKat features, these screenshots depict some of the Nexus 5’s hardware including screen, graphics processor and storage.

These screenshots depict a device with a Qualcomm MSM 8974 CPU, a CPU known as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800. This is a processor that has shown up time and time again and it’s clear that it will be on board. The screenshots show 2GB of RAM, a full HD display with 1,776 x 1,080 resolution, Adreno 330 graphics chip, and again, an 8MP camera.

It also shows a Nexus 5 using 16GB of storage, there are rumors that it will be joined by a 32GB model, and it appears that this device has around 4GB of storage eaten up already. It’s not clear if users will encounter this storage space out of the box but it’s certainly a possibility and something that could drive some buyers to the 32GB model.

Now, it’s just up to Google to announce a launch date for the Nexus 5, a launch date that is rumored to be coming at the end of the month. Rumors have suggested that Halloween could be the Nexus 5 launch date. That remains unconfirmed though one company has begun taking orders ahead of its launch date. The device is expected to be accompanied by an Asus Nexus 10, Android 4.4 KitKat and quite possibly other Nexus products including a light switch.
