GTA 5 PC speculation flares up as an Intel spokesperson speculates Rockstar is planning a fast release, at least one retailer starts taking pre-orders and console gamers petition Rockstar to skip the GTA 5 PC release.

GTA 5 and GTA 5 Online are the talk of the gaming community thanks to a record-breaking release in September and GTA 5 Online’s fun online experience which gamers can finally play now that Rockstar is capable of supporting millions of gamers in the online version of the game.

The GTA 5 release came to PS3 and Xbox 360, but there is no GTA 5 on PS4, Xbox 360 or PC at this time, even though the new consoles come out in a little over a month and PC gamers are chomping at the bit to play GTA 5 on what many consider better hardware.

The GTA 5 PC release may be held up by a payoff, but an industry insider expects it will come faster than some PC ports.

The latest GTA 5 PC chatter comes from Chris R. Silva,  Director of Marketing for Intel’s Premium Notebooks who asserts that Rockstar received a lump of cash to delay a GTA 5 PC release, telling PC World, “Somebody paid a lot of money to make sure that title was exclusive.” Silva does offer hope saying that Microsoft learned a lesson by keeping Halo a console exclusive for too long, saying,

“At least with Grand Theft Auto I don’t think it’ll be console exclusive very long. But that’s what happens when you have a brand new launch with two companies that have lots of money trying to make sure they have content.”

This isn’t the first mention of a GTA 5 PC release as leaked code from a pirated version of the Xbox 360 disc allegedly showed PC and PS4 code names. The news is also not without retailers attempting to capitalize on the demand for GTA 5 for PC. Amazon Germany and GameSeek are taking GTA 5 PC pre-orders already, despite no official confirmation from Rockstar. GameSeek lists a november 22nd release date, but warns that it is a placeholder. Amazon does not offer a GTA 5 PC release date at this time.

GTA 5 Pc pre-orders are live, but Rockstar has yet to confirm any PC version of the game.

There are competing petitions on Change.org regarding GTA 5 on PC. The petition for a GTA 5 PC release is nearing 600,000 signatures and Change.org added a campaign manager to help the person behind the effort get Rockstar to take notice. According to the petition creator, Rockstar is aware of the petition. The video below is a highlight of the current status for this petition.

A humorous petition signed by Trevor, GTA 5’s most malevolent character, includes over 10,000 signatures from users who want Rockstar to stop making GTA 5 for PC so, “PC Gamers learn their lesson and stop stealing games.”
