Moto X and LG G2 Prices Slashed at Amazon

Published

on

When Motorola announced its new Moto X phone back in August many were surprised by the $199 price tag. That didn’t last long though because we now have Best Buy and Amazon to thank for lowering the cost. Earlier this week we learned that Best Buy dropped the price of the popular new Moto X smartphone to $99, offering it for $100 less than most carriers, and now it appears that Amazon has followed their lead.

Not only did Amazon follow suit and is now offering the Moto X for $99, but they went even further by also lowering the impressive new 5-inch LG G2 smartphone to the same wallet-friendly price. Depending on the carrier you can now get both of these phone for the same price as the iPhone 5C. If you’ve been eying that new LG G2, here’s your change to get it at a great price.

Moto X Review - 007

Rewarding those of you who didn’t get one of these phones at their initial launch dates, Amazon is now giving us a potentially great deal that’s hard to pass up. We came away impressed with the LG G2 in our review, and Amazon is asking just $99 for new customers over at Verizon. If you’re an existing customer however, you’ll be paying $119. Which is still a decent deal considering Verizon stores want the full $199. As a reminder, the LG G2 sports a 5-inch 1080p HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 800, 13 megapixel OIS camera, and is essentially the inspiration and design base behind the Nexus 5.

Then for the Moto X the deal is even better. As they’re offering this smartphone for the impressive price of $99 for both AT&T and Verizon customers. This price stays the same for both new customers and those signing a new 2-year contract. You might want to wait until November 11th if you’re on Verizon though, as that’s the rumored date they’ll get the Moto X customization options.

At this point we can’t help but wonder if these price drops are just to compete with Best Buy and other retailers, or the the LG G2 was added to the bargain bin list simply because we’ll be seeing the LG Nexus 5 be announced soon. So far all signs are pointing towards a very late October unveil of the Nexus 5, with availability coming sometime in November.

Even with the Nexus 5 coming soon both the LG G2 and Moto X are great options for $99.
