Spigen Nexus 5 Case Revealed, Calls It a Revolution
The rumors and leaks surrounding Google’s Nexus 5 continue to pour in. And while we wait for some sort of official details or even a product announcement date, case manufacturers are already busy hyping up the new Nexus. Today the popular manufacturer Spigen is teasing us with its Neo Hybrid case specifically for the Nexus 5.
With the device leaking in Google’s own KitKat unveiling video, tons of pictures spotted at the FCC, and much more there’s no secret as to how the device will look. However, Spigen appears to either know all the details, or is going off the same leaks we’ve all seen. Although they get initial dimensions ahead of time to prep product lineups.
Spigen asks “Where will you be when the revolution begins?” below the image of the case and smartphone, and also tells us to “Be Ready” in terms of the Nexus 5 revolution. The smartphone has a lot of promise, but they sounds pretty excited about the new device and case lineup. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a case manufacturer do this, especially Spigen, but the image also gives us another look at the back of the device. Camera sensor and all.
With talks of a 5-inch full 1080p HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, as well as an 8 megapixel camera with full optical image stabilization all for just $299, we understand while they’re calling it a revolution. The device might end up being wildly successful, as long as it doesn’t have the same launch woes and supply constraints as the Nexus 4 last year.
One thing to take away from this is that so far case manufacturers appear to only be preparing for one size Nexus 5. However, latest rumors have stated Google will launch a 16GB model with a 2,300 mAh battery for $299, followed by a 32GB model with a bigger 3,000 mAh battery for $399. If that’s the case, the device would be bigger, and a company like Spigen would need two sizes to accommodate both smartphones.
As a reminder, some places are already accepting pre-orders, but don’t take their November 14th ship date too seriously. We won’t know until Google announces it themselves.
