How to Get the Mavericks and iPad Air Wallpapers for Your Own Devices

Published

on

OS X Mavericks is out in full force and readily available, and the new iPads have been revealed as well, including new default wallpapers for both products. The default OS X Mavericks wallpaper is a beautiful image of an ocean wave with a blue to green gradient going from bottom to top, while the new iPad Air wallpaper is a simple and sleek gradient pattern that goes from blue to white to green.

If you upgraded to OS X Mavericks, you already have the new Mavericks wallpaper, but if you don’t plan on updating to Mavericks or you simply can’t, but you want the new wallpaper that’s provided, you still grab it for yourself to use on your desktop. We also found and modified the wallpaper for iOS devices as well. Likewise, the new iPad wallpaper can be downloaded, and you can grab iPhone and desktop versions as well.

Desktop (5120 x 2880) – To make it fit your resolution for your specific machine, simply just open it up in your favorite image editor and change the image size to your computer’s resolution.

iPhone 5s/5c/5 (Parallax & non-Parallax) – If you use the Parallax Effect on your iPhone, use the Parallax-ready wallpaper. Use the “non-Parallax” wallpaper if you have the feature disabled. This wallpaper also works on the 5th-gen iPod touch.

iPhone 4s/4 (Parallax & non-Parallax) – Use the non-Parallax wallpaper if you have an iPhone 4, since it doesn’t have the feature to begin with. This wallpaper also works on the 4th gen iPod touch.

iPhone 3GS/3G/2G (One size fits all) – We doubt many of you still have these ancient models around, but if you do, might as well go ahead and slap on a Mavericks wallpaper. This also works with the 1st- through 3rd-gen iPod touches.

iPad Air/iPad 4/iPad 3/iPad mini with Retina (Parallax & non-Parallax) – All four of these devices use the same resolution for their respective display, so it’s rather convenient for getting wallpapers.

iPad 2/iPad 1/iPad mini (Parallax & non-Parallax) – Use the non-Parallax version for the iPad 1, since that model doesn’t have iOS 7 to begin with.

For this wallpaper, we decided not to include a Parallax-ready version, mostly because it’s not needed and you wouldn’t be able to tell that the background is moving anyway, since the design of the new iPad wallpaper is extremely simple and minimalistic. Original template for this wallpaper was made by Adriano Mendes.

If you’re waiting to get a new iPad Air or maybe the new iPad mini with Retina display, both tablets will be out on November 1. The iPad Air will cost $499, while the new iPad mini will be priced at $399. Both slates now share the exact same design, with the only difference being the screen size; the iPad Air has a 9.7-inch display, while the iPad mini has a 7.9-inch screen.
