New MacBook Pro Retina Available at Most Apple Stores Today

The new MacBook Pro Retina is now available at most Apple Store locations in the U.S. with the five standard models available for pickup in many retail locations.

Apple announced the new MacBook Pro Retina (Late 2013) on Tuesday alongside the new iPad Air and iPad mini 2 Retina models. While the new iPad release doesn’t arrive until November 1st and later in November, the new MacBook Pro Retina arrived online right after the event.

As of Thursday afternoon many Apple Store locations in the U.S. have the new MacBook Pro Retina models in stock for pickup.

This includes the base model which starts at $1,299 and goes all the way up to the $2,599 top spec’d Macbook Pro with Retina with a 15-inch display.

In several checks in Ohio, San Francisco and New York, the new MacBook Pro Retina is available in three out of four stores. The most expensive 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina model is the hardest to find, but is available at some locations.

The base Macbook Pro Retina models are available at almost every store we checked, and this may be the best option for users looking to buy the cheapest option.

The best bet is to check the stock online at the Apple Store or with the Apple Store app, for personal pickup at a retail store. This will hold the MacBook Pro model you select, so you don’t make a trip and end up empty handed.

Users cannot customize these MacBook Pro models in store, so users who need more storage, RAM or processor options will need to purchase online. The base 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina only comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which may not be enough for every user.

The MacBook Pro Retina models online are configurable with up to an Intel Core i7 quad-core processor, 16GB of RAM and 1TB of PCIe flash storage. Users can order online for free delivery and customized systems ship within one to three days.
