Verizon HTC One Won’t Skip Android 4.3 for Android 4.4

With the Verizon HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update still not out, many owners have been wondering whether, given HTC’s Android 4.4 KitKat timeline, the device will skip Android 4.3 for Android 4.4. That won’t be happening says HTC’s Jason Mackenzie who says that the Verizon HTC One will first get Android 4.3 and then will move to Android 4.4 with the other devices.

Several weeks ago, HTC said that it would roll out Android 4.3 for the HTC One in the United States and that the roll outs would emerge by the end of September.

HTC was unable to keep that promise and wound up rolling out the Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile HTC One Android 4.3 updates in early and mid-October respectively.

The company then updated Verizon HTC One owners with a new timeline saying that the update was delayed and that the company anticipated that it could take a month or so before the device would get the Android 4.3 update. Yesterday, Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat and companies, including HTC, confirmed Android 4.4 updates.

In fact, HTC confirmed an aggressive plan for Android 4.4 KitKat and the HTC One, a plan that will put the Android 4.4 KitKat update on the HTC One in the United States within 90 days. Looking ahead, that means that updates for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon should roll out by January 29th. Of course, given that Android 4.3 still hasn’t rolled out for the Verizon HTC One, many have wonder if HTC will skip Android 4.3.

“No,” says Jason Mackenzie who says that the Android 4.4 KitKat update won’t impact the Verizon HTC One Android 4.3 update and that owners won’t have to wait any longer. He also confirms that HTC’s Android 4.4 KitKat promise applies to Verizon HTC One owners as well which means that they too should see the upgrade within 90 days.

While the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll out date still isn’t clear, owners of the Verizon HTC One can take some solace in the fact that not one, but two big time updates will be rolling out within the next few weeks.

You’re kidding, right? We’re talking Verizon here. It will take them *much* longer to get KitKat deployed to their devices. My guess? March or April.

Boo hoo hoo. All I see are some of you people getting on here and whining, complaining like crazy about a software update. I have 4.2.2 on the Verizon version of the One,and it works just fine,no problems whatsoever. If HTC has confirmed Kitkat is coming in later January 2014,then there will be 2 software updates to HTC One in the next 90 days. I certainly wont waste my time complaining about that because the updates will come. Makes me wonder what some of you do with all your time. Whining and complaining about a software update? I for one have better things to do with my life than worry about those kind of things.

Hilarious, so what’s it say, then, about the guy who complains about people who are complaining?
