T-Mobile Nexus 5 Arrives November 14th for $17 a Month

Now that the Google Nexus 5 by LG has been available for about a week, carriers are starting to come out with additional details as to when you’ll be able to buy direct from them, instead of the Google Play Store. We’ve heard a few rumors for T-Mobile, but today they’ve confirmed all the details.

Following Sprint’s lead the Nexus 5 will be available from T-Mobile starting on November 20th, with orders going live online on the 14th of the month. The important here being that this is the UNcarrier carrier, and you’ll be able to spend only $41.99 for the device total, then pay monthly payments until paid in full, which is nothing new for those following T-Mobile’s latest moves. Below you’ll find everything you need to know.

The total cost from T-Mobile for the 16GB Nexus 5 is $449, just like Sprint, which is $100 more than the $349 price from the Google Play Store. However, you’ll get that price after months of payments instead of an upfront lump sum.

“With an upfront cost of only $41.99 down and 24 equal monthly device payments of $17 with T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plan. T-Mobile offers Nexus 5 customers an unprecedented wireless experience by freeing them from annual service contracts, overage worries, ridiculous upgrade restrictions and complicated plans while on a speedy nationwide 4G LTE network.”

Considering not all customers have the $349 to spend upfront, getting the Nexus 5 from T-Mobile for only $41 out the door sounds like a pretty sweet deal. In the long run the price will be more, but that’s the cost of getting it for cheap and using the monthly option. Don’t forget T-Mobile JUMP will also let you switch to a new phone if you’d like, in case the Nexus 5 isn’t your cup of tea in 4-5 months when the new Samsung Galaxy S5 arrives.

The Nexus 5 will be available at these prices from T-Mobile.com starting on the 14th, then found in retail stores nationwide come November 20th. As a reminder the same Nexus 5 from the Play Store or Amazon will work without any issues, if you’ve already purchased one through that route. T-Mobile didn’t list an off-contract outright price, but we’re assuming it will ring in at $449.

Just a note though, that $42 down & $17/mo is only for well qualified buyers. Otherwise you’ll probably have to shell out a couple hundred as a down payment.
