Sprint Galaxy S3 & Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Updates Confirmed

Sprint isn’t talking about the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update or the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates yet but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t on their way. In fact, thanks to some data extrapolated from Sprint’s website, we know that the carrier is hard at work on both the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update and the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update.

Last month, Samsung not only announced a Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update, it announced a Galaxy Note 2 update as well, detailing the pieces of software in a quick announcement. The company did not offer any specifics about carriers or a release date but those in the United States are starting to get a clearer picture about the upgrades.

December could bring the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update release in some regions, with Galaxy Note 3 features.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update roll out has begun though it still hasn’t reached the United States. Thanks to a leaked document, we have a good feeling that updates are heading to AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. However, none of those carriers have confirmed anything.

That chart was thrown into disarray last week when the Sprint Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updated, said to be coming on November 6th, missed its target roll out date. While no official reason was given, remember the update still isn’t official, it now looks like Sprint may have run into some issues.

Thanks to some insight provided to Gotta Be Mobile, we can now confirm the Sprint Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates. The updates have appeared on Sprint’s website with the Galaxy S3 update showing an Android 4.3 build of L710VPUCMK3 and the Galaxy Note 2 showing an Android 4.3 build of L900VPUBMK1.

We have been told that the Galaxy S3 build data showed up this morning, a sign that Sprint likely ran into some problems with the previous build. The appearance of the updates on Sprint’s website confirm the software for arrival. They don’t, however, offer users any type of timeline for release.  The leaked document suggested that the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update would land on November 20th and that date remains a possibility.

For now, U.S. Cellular remains the only carrier have officially confirmed an Android 4.3 update for its Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 but it’s clear that it won’t be alone.

When the updates do arrive in the United States, they should be packing features from Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in addition to Samsung KNOX for added security, Galaxy S4 software features including camera tweaks and in the case of the Galaxy Note 2, some additions from the Galaxy Note 3. American carriers have been known to leave features off major updates so owners should keep their fingers crossed that these devices get the full load.

Thanks, G!
