PS4, PS3 & PSP Vita Owners Can Grab $5 PSN Credit from Amazon
Amazon users don’t have to head to the PlayStation online store to purchase downloadable content for their PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4. That’s because the world’s largest online retailer is launching a new PlayStation-focused store front complete with a limited-time special offer.
Starting today, users can visit the new Amazon PlayStation Store to purchase games and content for titles they already own. While Amazon hasn’t formally announced the new store front just yet, it’s already accessible to the public here. Amazon shoppers could always buy physical copies of games and like Battlefield 4 from Amazon’s traditional store already, however they’d have to wait for the game disc or prepaid store code to actually arrive.
This new store allows users to purchase digital codes to enter into their PlayStation immediately and saves users from having to wait for a physical game or DLC download card to arrive. As this is an official Amazon store, users can also purchase downloadable content and subscriptions for their PlayStation using Amazon credit.
To celebrate the launch of the new store, Amazon is giving users $5 of store credit when they buy digital codes for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins, Battlefield 4, The Last of Us, FIFA 14, and Madden NFL 25. Users will also receive $5 store credit when they purchase digital codes for each game’s season pass. Season passes allow users to buy all of a game’s future content for one flat price. Unfortunately, the deal only counts for PlayStation 3 versions of each game, though the season pass purchase can be for the PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4. Amazon says that it will automatically apply the $5 credit on the next purchase the user makes from its PlayStation Store.
The new store front doesn’t include just games either. Users can also purchase $10 and $20 PlayStation Store gift cards and 1-month and 3-month subscriptions to Plus. A subscription to PlayStation Plus is required for users who wish to play multiplayer games online using Sony’s next-generation gaming console, the PlayStation 4.
In fact, today’s announcement comes only days before Sony is due to begin selling the PlayStation 4 in North America, Europe and Asia. The device goes on sale at midnight on Friday, November 15th for $399.
