The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update release date still hasn’t arrived but that doesn’t mean that it’s not close. Those who want to install the software early now have another chance though rumors suggest that the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update roll out could begin sometime this week as Samsung works to get its devices outfitted with support for Galaxy Gear.
Last month, Samsung confirmed that it would be rolling out a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update in the near future. And while it detailed most of the features on board the update, it did not say when the update would roll out. Thanks to a number of roll out schedules, the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update release has been pegged for mid-to-late November with some roll outs set to take place in December. Samsung, for its part, has confirmed nothing though it looks like a roll out is as close as ever.
SamMobile claims that the update could roll out as soon as today with the update pegged as likely for this week. This is something that is to be expected, given that the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 updates in the United States have been rumored for late November, international versions of devices typically get updated first, and given that Black Friday and the holidays are approaching.
The Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update is part of a larger push from Samsung to get its older devices updated with support for the Galaxy Gear, its $299 accessory that was announced, and released, alongside the Galaxy Note 3.
Samsung is experiencing issues with its current Android 4.3 updates however as it has already been forced to pull the Galaxy S3 and AT&T Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 updates due to issues. The Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update in particular has been plagued by major issues including battery drain and lag issues. It’s unclear how these problems might affect the Galaxy Note 2 update, if at all.
Those who are looking to snag the update a little early now have the opportunity to do so as the site has also leaked the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update for the GT-N7100 version of the Galaxy Note 2. The software is said to be a near final, if not final, version of the update, making it attractive to those that have the kn0w-how and don’t wish to wait for the official OTA.
