Target will sell the 16GB iPhone 5s for $179.99, a $20 discount off the standard price , and throw in a $30 Target gift card. This means the effective price is just $149.99, which is a decent deal. The deal requires a new two-year AT&T or Verizon wireless contract or a renewal on an account that's eligible for an upgrade. The $30 gift card is also available for the Sprint version of the iPhone 5s, but Target will be selling it for $198, which is only $1 cheaper than normal. Just a comment about some of the “deals”. Walmart, as just one example, has a seven inch Nextbook tablet with a dual core processor on sale for $69.99. Last week, while shopping for Christmas for the same tablet, with a leather case, it was sold at $59.99 and included a leather case. Not an indictment, particularly against Walmart, many retailers engage in this same type of advertising/practice, I’m merely cautioning shoppers to try to be aware of what they are paying for an item and whether or not the retailer is giving you a good deal or if they have actually marked the price up and called it a sale.
